Colette always had Hollywood aspirations. Maybe this will be a little something for her. It seems like the mainstream has gotten away from female muscle.
August 10, 2008 at 4:10 pm #71759AlexGKeymasterSeems Colette the Conservative just can't get enough of staring in Barely Political videos . . . 8)

From the femuscle point of view it's little more than the uaual novelty/circus-sideshow style of exposure that hardly does FBBing much good. Sorry to sound like a curmudgeon, but I really don't see how this stuff helps.

I think it's pretty much about the cheesecake.
August 12, 2008 at 5:12 am #71762Number6ParticipantI don't see Colette's role in these spots as alienating an audience based on political party loyalties. For instance, just because Will Ferrel mockingly portrayed G.W. Bush on SNL doesn't mean that people base their enjoyment of his movies based on whether they are Republican or Democrat (I'm not sure *what* they base their enjoyment of Will Ferrel movies on, but that's a whole other discussion).
In the meantime, anyone who watches these "Obama Girl Vs. McCain Girl" videos will see her, and at the very least will probably enjoy the humor in the situation…and if she gains some more fans in the process (detractors can be easily ignored, after all), so much the better for her. And for existing femuscle fans, there's at least this extra little bit of content to enjoy/drool over. 😉
August 12, 2008 at 8:40 am #71763smittyParticipantHow many people knew Colette Nelson existed a couple of months ago? How many people know she exists now?
My only complaint is that the second spot isn't nearly as interesting as the first.

August 12, 2008 at 3:09 pm #71765cpbell0033944ParticipantActually, smitty and Number 6 have a point, though I'd suggest that most people know her as "McCain Girl" rather than as Colette, but it does give some exposure and is humourous (though I agree that the second spot wasn't as good as the first – it seemed too lengthy to me and not as funny).
