ParticipantHow Do I say This:
From the first time I actually sat down and took notice of a comic book, (back I’d say 1963). I discovered books like Action, Superman, Superboy , Marvel, Gold Key etc.. a diversity, a plethora of superheroes, and being the big DC fan that I am, I will occasionally read a Marvel book. The other day I got into a discussion with a friend about women who have various sizes of muscle. He was a True fan Marvel-zombie and reading some DC as he does to “pad” his collection out he said that because of the age of DC that they’re iconic in thought and art. Slim or no muscles with (now) growing big boobs, while the younger more aggressive Marvel women work their muscles.
I think that women like Barda, Wonder Woman, and Power Girl should be showing off muscle that come to near splitting sleeves and stop the boob growing (Wally Wood, God rest his soul) did that in the first appearances of Power Girl back in the 70’s, even gave her body suit that showed off her musculature, just shy of a stiff nipple. Jack Kirby gave Barda his own look on muscles… But I digress. I think those women in the DC universe that deserve the muscle should get them and thus distinguish them from everyone who is your everyday woman in the comics universe. :blush:October 19, 2010 at 6:31 pm #96282BodybyBane

ParticipantYou guys should check out Booster Gold #37. It’s the latest issue, and in it is a character named Estrogina who has a great muscular physique. She’s a prisoner in the Starlag which Booster has ended up in, and she rampages through on her way to a break out. It’s good stuff.
In fact, since Keith Giffen, and J.M. DeMatteis have taken over the writing of Booster Gold there has been a good amount of brawny females involved since Barda was also featured in a couple of issues earlier this story arc.
Artist Chris Batista’s portrayal of these brawny women has been very satisfactory. Highly recommend.

ParticipantNo problem. I wish I had a scanner to post some images, because the scene where her ship appears, and they show a backside view of her is one of the best of the issue.
