Poll question #1: Comic books – when you first purchased them what was the price per issue?

Poll question #2: Where was it @ – a newsstand, drug store, comic store, bookstore, etc.

By first, I don’t mean whatever back issue(s) you might have purchased at a comic store, by mail order (i.e. Mile High) or a fleamarket, but the first retail price you recall as a brand new issue for that month/year.

You’re free to answer one, or both questions – expand on them as you will or not.

“I like a good story well told. That is the reason I am sometimes forced to tell them myself.”

I remember buying them first from a second hand store. Old Jack Kirby artwork wormed it’s way into my psyche. About 25 cents an issue.

My first NEW comics were from the mall at Waldenbooks and were 1.75 USD.

They were the AD&D comics from DC and were printed on high quality stock for the time.

Many, many moons ago, I remember collecting Spider Man (I think it PPTSSM, if I remember rightly) at $0.60 a rag. Seems the price went up a bit since then…
