Yeah. I dont like to ever pay up front for art done. I had a friend. Great artist. He actually offered to do the work for 30 dollars.
I paid. He promised a month.
2 months later I paid him a visit in a pissed off mood.
I got a dinner plate. To the nose.
Never did get that artwork.
And the surgery cost 100 dollars, even though it was just a minor cosmetic job.
Yeah. I dont like asking for comissions much these days.Yowch!
1) is he still your friend?
2) did you sue/get the money for the surgery and the commish money back?May 12, 2006 at 6:08 am #27977ChachibenjiParticipantLol. It was just a drawing of a female friend of mine, me and her got the idea that it would be neat to see what she looked like if she pulled a Christine Envall or something.
But no. Never did get the drawing. After 2 weeks he moved away. And out of state here in Ohio means civil suits are out the window.
And unfortunately it was only a civil suit in the end. So nyeh. Never got anything out of that besides a nose brace.
Roffle.
And lol course he still isnt my friend. last thing I remember hearing was
"GET YOUR BLOODY SHIT OFF MY LAWN KID."
Lol. So yeah. No more comissions for me. Closest Ill ever get is asking Pete or another artist for a request. Lol.May 13, 2006 at 1:27 pm #27978LuParticipant^^; I always try to complete comissions within a few days to a week of getting them, depending on what they are.
The Totally Spies FMG/FWG ones I did took a while but I still got all four done in I think under two weeks.. The MMG Faustus I did took two days o.O
I don't know, I just work fast, but I can't help feeling guilty when there's money involved, I always get things done ASAP. Then again all people seem to ask for is buff'd versions of things xD
That's probably why I don't do requests.. I'd rather do it for the money >P plus the insentive of cash keeps me keen to finish it.
Then again each full-colour pic never seems to cost much more than $25.. but then if they were more I guess I wouldn't get any comissions at all @_@;
I dunno, I'm just rambling.. but that's my say on comissions xD;May 20, 2006 at 6:25 pm #27979Red_SilverParticipant^^; I always try to complete comissions within a few days to a week of getting them, depending on what they are.

I want to be finish first on my end, showing the sketch only first and then wait for the other person to finish. But recently, I've begun to regret the trade thing, because someone was angry with me and so did his request, and keeping away from him.
May 20, 2006 at 7:54 pm #27980BassParticipantDang.. If I were good enough, I'd take comissions :p. But now it sounds like more trouble then its worth :(.

IT's not that big of a deal, if you want, if you can handle it and that people are willing to pay you, then it's great. The more you improve, the higher you can charge for your work.

If I weren't broke I'd ASK for a commision.
I guess we're even.

Aaaah thanks, that is a great honor. Tell you what, I'll do a character of your, when I've set my scanner up. Been busy moving into a house that is still being rebuild. Just PM me what character you liked done and I'll post it here when I'm done. Better let me do my part first before you do anything for me, okay ^^
