ParticipantI hope this is in the right department. Anyhoo, whenever I try to comment/vote on something that is featured on the main page, I get this
You are not authorized to view this resource.
Unless otherwise specified, all content items are the intellectual property of the contributor, with all copyrights and other rights reserved. Comments are not considered content items; users surrender all rights to comments and they become the property of Amaz0ns upon entry.
Yet, when I click on the title of whatever the item is, and brought to the stand alone item, I can vote and comment. I am using Firefox, is that what is causing this? Or is it a site thing?

ParticipantI have IE 6 and have a similar problem so I don't think it's your browser.

ParticipantSame problem here; using Netscape 7.2 on Mac.
I also get a strange message when I try to look up anyone's profile but my own; I get the message "Many apologies, but you can't view just any profile." (I'm a global moderator fer lyin' out croud; if anyone should be authorized to view profiles wouldn't you think it ought to be a moderator?)

KeymasterDoes anyone else but Dave have trouble viewing profiles? At launch I put a restriction in for the global moderators to keep them from viewing IP addresses and hidden information that they would otherwise have been able to see. This was done at the request of some users who were concerned about their privacy. As it stands now only I have access to private information. That data is stored in a secure database and requires an encrypted password hash – mine or the individual user's – to access it. It's possible my kluge was too effective and I screwed up all access to the profiles for the global mods.

KeymasterGood news and bad news – the good news is I fixed the comment problem. The bad news is that I deleted all the existing comments by mistake while tinkering.
I'm looking at your problem now, Dave. I'll try not to delete you, too.

KeymasterOK, Dave – check it now.

ParticipantOK, Dave – check it now.
Good news: I can view profiles now.
Good news 2: I can read comments at the blog by clicking on the "comments" link at the bottom of the post (whereas before the only way I could view comments was to click on the post title).
Bad news: I still get the "You are not authorized to view this resource" message when I click on any of the links in the "Latest Comments" column in the right sidebar.
