A while ago, my parents and I watched a public service announcement featuring a punk and a male bodybuilder. In the commercial, the two of them meet – however briefly – as boys and as he grows to adulthood, the young bodybuilder discovers steroids and turns professional (being represented in a tournament by a hilariously large head on a competing bodybuilder's body). Eventually, he is taken to the hospital because the steroids have taken a toll on his body. Meanwhile, the punk has been able to avoid steroids and is seen working in an airport at the end of the commercial. I thought I recognized the young actor who portrayed the bodybuilder as a boy; he had been the subject of an article in a MUSCLE & FITNESS magazine because of his unusual muscular development; in the commercial, he looks like a small Greek god.
