Precisely why I don't own a Gamecube. If you're not a fan of the Nintendo mainstays there isn't much call to have one. I can think of maybe three games I actually want for the system so maybe when the next gens come out and it gets down to 50 bucks or so . . .
What games DO you like then? Action titles, like RE4(Which was out 9 months before the PS2 version, so there's no excuse to wait), or Killer7 (which has much faster load times and sharper graphics than the PS2 version)? Or Strat-RPGs like Fire Emblem?
I really do not like when people act like Nintendo mascot titles can't possibly be good, or that it has no 3rd party support. You know who doesn't support it? EA. Wow, what a hit. Crappy sports titles.
And Tecmo. Oh no, we lose crappy games and tits.
Namco? They hate money. The GC version sold the best, but Namco still stiffed Nintendo.
Capcom? No, they're quite strong on the Cube.
Square-Enix? All they have is FF and KH at the moment, and FF is not impressive anymore. But what DO they have?
Mario Baseball, SSX Tricky, NBA Street, Mario Strikers. 4 different sports, 2 different companies.
RE4, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, and Killer7 for action titles(and the middle 2 are also great adventure games).
Fire Emblem, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos.I can do this for a while. People who claim "Nothing on the Cube makes me want it" are really just kind of fooling themselves, or trying to act like they aren't just being irrational. You wanna know ONE reason to buy the Cube? Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Buy it, spend an hour getting to know it(controls, then play a bit, get a character you like) and I guarantee you'll love it.
And if it's too different from playing on Xbox Live, hire a 12 year old to yell racial slurs in your ear.November 17, 2005 at 11:07 am #17976Silent OneParticipantI really do not like when people act like Nintendo mascot titles can't possibly be good,
I never said they weren't good. I said I didn't want to own them. Why does that bother you? And I never said I didn't play them, a few of my friends have Gamecubes and I've played many of the games you mentioned including Melee (which just doesn't do anything for me.)
I'm not bashing the system and I'm somewhat puzzled as to why you seem to think I am. And yea, RE4 is awesome but I don't buy systems for just one game and I'm pretty happy with the extra content on my PS2.
This is a matter of personal taste. I like the offerings of the other systems better and I can't afford to own every game system out there. If you like the Gamecube, more power to you. I don't try to bager people into agreeing with me on topics that are pretty much based just on opinion. Please have the common decency to return the favor.
And yes, the cursing twelve year olds are why I cancelled my XBox live subscription.

I'll adimt that you're doing better this time (at least it was respectful), but I think that you need to find a way to express yourself without ranting. Doing that puts people on the defensive, causing stressed relationships, often ending in a negative fashion. Even if it's a loose relationship, you can turn a potential friend into an enemy (sorry for the dramatic term, but I couldn't think of anything else to say). Instead of saying that a person is wrong all of the time, try to GENTLY show them why you think the way that you do. For example, Sony has more money, so they get the better contracts. Nintendo works with what they have, so they have better quality. The hardware that they produce is far superior in many repects to what Sony cranks out, but the reverse also holds true. Nintendo is more durable, and Sony is more advanced. Nintendo is less technologically advanced, but Sony is more delicate. There are pros and cons to everything. Another example is that I prefer RPG's. Nintendo has some good ones, but Sony has more. Nintendo's are better games, while Sony's are more flashy and graphics-oriented. It all comes down to personal preference. Mine just happens to be Nintendo.
