During the 1980s and early 1990s, there was a legendary satirical programme on British TV called "Spitting Image".  Basically, caricature foam head puppets were made of various politicians and newsworthy figures and, using actor's voices, were used to portray less-than-flattering scenarios in which the writers imagined the people for comedic effect.  Here are a few that pertain the US politics at the time:
