Crimson Dawn is one of DC Comics’ original Secret Six, the daughter of a British colonel who lost her money to a fortune hunter and, in the WHO’S WHO IN THE DC UNIVERSE’s original Secret Six entry, was sad to have killed a pump with a karate chop (although this is never mentioned in the original comic), thereby allowing herself to be blackmailed by Mockingbird, a mysterious figure who is one of her teammates. Taken in by the French beautician Lilli (number two of the six), she is “made over” (a process that apparently includes plastic surgery, the only way to change the exact structure of Crimson’s face) into first a world-renowned model and then an actress. She is an expert horsewoman, marksman, gymnast and martial artist who uses these skills to aid the team in their cases. In issue five, she even does a most muscular pose in the third panel on the second page, the earliest depiction of this pose I have ever found.
