Now you’re nitpicking. The car talked. That stayed the same. It transformed for added edge. That was cool. I don’t know what the deal was with KARR, because that didn’t last very long. Other than that, the concept of Knight Rider was there.

As for Wonder Woman, it’s still childish no matter how you re-write it. Trust me, many other writers have tried and it got WB nowhere. In the end, they either do it or not, and hope the audience can enjoy it. 😛

Geez. What’s with all this hate on Knight Rider? If people hate that series, they’re definitely going to hate a concept like Wonder Woman. Think about it – an Amazon Princess from a hidden island of immortal women dressed in a cheesy costume. Nothing about that is believable. So who is going to watch this stuff if not her fans?

Knight Rider was awesome, the new one sucked. A car that transformed into other cars, vans, pick up trucks not to mention the whole KARR that turned into a battlemech but needed a human brain to run itself…though Peter Cullen awesomeness was welcome. Viper handled it far better, well except for the hovercraft mode in season 4 :p

In this case broken concept refers to the shows concept itself. It has nothing to do with being believable or not, how many things on TV are? or comics themselves? 3 secret identities, Wonder Woman being all overly emotional and crying in a fetal position obsessed with an ex-boyfriend at least twice within a single hour long show. That’s not wonder woman.

Well that was fun (to make fun of) while it lasted. EW has learned that NBC passed on the much buzzed-about Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley and Warner Bros. TV.

Kelley had penned a script that updated the comic book classic to have Diana Prince as CEO of a major conglomerate by day and a butt-kicking Amazon (with a fleet of cool planes) by night. Kelley’s take asked for lots of heart-thumping, contemporary music, and at one point the Boston Legal writer even requested a commercial-free premiere for the pilot if it aired.

Why did the ‘ol girl fail to pass muster?

NBC isn’t saying for now but scuttlebutt reveals the pilot earned mixed reviews at test screenings. And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology. Ultimately, the wardrobe department went back to the drawing board but that didn’t seem to save the project.

The show would’ve porbably been yanked after the first episode anyway.

Now we just have to wait for it to leak into the internet, and horrorise ourselves.

Wow, what a relief! You know you’re on the wrong track if you are making a TV show about the ultimate Amazon princess and warrior and you can’t get the backing of a site called Amaz0ns! I still want to see the pilot though, just to see how bad it really is.

All I hope is that the right lesson is learned from this failure; that you should treat an iconic character with respect and stay true to the themes of the original material! If I hear anyone saying that the failed NBC attempt to bring back Wonder Woman proves that today’s audiences just won’t accept a show centered around a strong female main character, I shall rain down a shit storm of anger and vengeance upon them!

Please WB, get in contact with J.J. Abrams. I have no doubt he could come up with a really kick-ass version of Wonder Woman, and I’m sure he would pick a nice, leanly-muscled actress to play her instead of some tall, but skinny waif.

Well I won’t be holding my breath for another film adaption. It will happen when it happens. In the meantime, I’m planning on how I’ll be photographing an upcoming natural bodybuilding show. Real amazons, yo!
