A new WONDER WOMAN 9-issue miniseries begins here with a story written and pencilled by Renae De Liz (The Last Unicorn)! In the beginning there was only chaos. But Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, saw a better future—and eventually, her daughter would be destined to bring that new world to life! Before her ultimate fate unfolds, though, Diana of Themyscira must learn the important lessons of an Amazonian childhood!

Nice cover, but the story doesn’t look very appealing for me. Thanks for pointing this out.

It sounds good for new fans. But it feels like the same concept as Smallville and Gotham. I don’t need to heavily know what their world was like before they became superheroes. The real challenges happen when they’re already super. Becoming the superhero is not the reward, it’s more like donning the magical garments the heroes wear to fight their foe.

Instead of detailing Diana’s childhood, why not have a story about how Hippolyta establishes Themiscyira’s society after landing there? The focus would be on her, the other Amazons, and what they all faced to make their Paradise Island.

    That a great idea.
