In answer, no I don't think you made Winston into too much of an idiot, under the circumstances it was fairly Human reaction on his part from force of habit.  Trival elements are usually missed except by the most highly observent of indeviduals, which Winston hardly strikes me as being – Slade, on the other hand, is something else yet again and should have been the first to order his underling to repeat the process exactly as it was originally demonstrated to them.

Of course, this isn't what happened as you've presented it.  Instead both them had a false presumption that it was immateral as to where the injection was taken, only so long as it was done.

Just as a side bar, I would have preferred (if only for its humor value) Winston to have exclaimed D'OH . . .  😀

I's do not believe there to be an inconsistance with the character of Slade.

He merely seems the type to believe an injection to be an injection adn he was far more concerned with seeing Tetsuko's shapely backside than noting how Sonya did administer the injection and why.

So, dear David, it seems that you have not made any mistake but delievered another fine continuance to your fine tale.

I agree, most injections (that I've seen/had anyways, besides those prickly "head shots") are given through the arm, and I didn't think of it either, since the last time I saw the "booty shot" was a while ago!

I think for somebody that's not a doctor, and that doesn't know what kind of affect it would have if given anywhere else, it's perfectly ok for Winston to have done that!

Mm, well, it wasn't really "rhetorical" as such, but I wasn't actually expecting any answers, so this is nice  🙂

That was a decision I'd agonized over… but if you'd read the comments on the last few posts on which I allowed comments, you probably understand why I turned them off. I do miss the positive feedback; and I like to think I'm not so delicate and thin-skinned that I can't take some constructive criticism. But when fully a quarter of the posts begin to all be variations on the same sentiment – "Why aren't you cranking these out faster, goddam you!" without even a word about whether or not the commenter was enjoying what I was doing… Well, it got to where it wasn't fun to read the comments anymore, having to sift through the trolls to get to the good posts.

I do have the options, if I decide to reinstate comments, of limiting commenting to registered members only and/or word verification, in order to put up one or two more hoops for trolls to have to jump through if they want to leave comments whose only purpose is to irritate me. The trouble is, it also makes people I want to hear from jump through those same hoops.  😐

Damn, that would've been good! Wish I had thought of that!!

(Incidentally, the reason I didn't post my own notice about Page 13 was that I didn't think there was enough going on on the page to warrant a separate notice here. Happy to be mistaken in that regard…)

Yeah I keep thinking that but I know what's involved in the creative process and that it's dependant on ephemeral things like 'free time' which is all too rare for some of us. That's why I limit my pestering to every now and then when it comes to unfinished stories. Well that and the fact I want to remain friends with the people around here.

I HATE trolls… really do… 😡 😡 😡

They contribute nothing, but demand everything! For a lot of contributors, it's a hobby, not a job! (Why it's fun in the first place).

Winston's a hired goon. He isn't paid to think, and he most definitely isn't paid (enough) to "recommend" that Slade "take it in the butt", IYKWIM.

At least, that's what I surmised. Far from making him "too dumb," I think that little tidbit did wonders to flesh out his character and elevate his status in the story.

(And not to come off as a troll, but I am greatly enjoying the new format. Thank you Mr. Matthews!)

Just to comment on the action…. when Winston injects Slade in the arm… that's when the FUN begins!! 👿 👿

I just hope the story doesn't go into "splatter" mode, which would go against the spirit of the thing IMHO.
