ParticipantThe training video with Conan O’brien was better & the weight plates on the bar looked fake
GG is just soooooo lean & now that WW has gone over like GangBusters,..there’s now Zer0 hope/chance of guilting her into gaining lbs. for added curvesJune 6, 2017 at 9:05 pm #135362philip

ParticipantBrooke Ence, and some others I think. Most likely background amazons.

Watched WW yesterday,..
Only muscular Amazon I could see clearly is the 1 standing next to Brooke
Definitely felt it was better than Capt.America 1st Avenger & will obvious buy it on DVD if there’s a good special edition
But filmmaker Chris R.Notarile captured my thoughts more clearly than I did
of course all spoilers have been edited it outWonder Woman Review by CHRIS R. NOTARILE·
Alright,so I just saw Wonder Woman yesterday and yes I did enjoy it. But the bar was already set incredibly low. So here is an in depth breakdown of my thoughts.
While Wonder Woman is a thoroughly enjoyable movie, it is not truly amazing. It IS however groundbreaking, but not for the reasons it truly should be. What is groundbreaking about this film is that its DC’s first SUCCESSFUL big budget blockbuster that didn’t star Batman or Superman. DC, unfortunately, has been relying WAAAAAY to much on Batman and Superman to carry them through the summer box office for the last 40 years. And at no point have they ever truly tried to deviate from that formula, short of the failed Green Lantern and Catwoman films. Pretty much everything else in DC’s portfolio has pretty much been Batman or Superman related. Wonder Woman is the first film that didn’t need the Batman/Superman crutch to make it to the finished line. That alone is reason enough to celebrate this film. But again, that should not have been the reason. The story is relatively good. It’s very character driven and everyone is really fleshed out. The little moments between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine were truly sweet&captivating. Where the movie drags for me is the 3rd act’s blandness. It gets relatively cliche, although the reason why Wonder Woman doesn’t fall to the “dark side” is rather refreshing.
I do feel that this film could’ve pushed the envelope a bit more in terms of the horrors Wonder Woman sees in the trenches, followed by her dramatic charge into combat. I feel that it played it safe. Which is fine. That’s just me.
In many ways I believe it was Princess Diana who quarterbacked this entire film and forced me to give a damn, whereas other films in the DCEU have driven me away with a frickin pitch fork. Her subtle nuances and expressions as the character were fantastic and a true embodiment of the character. Honorable mentions to Robin Wright for being kickass without breaking a sweat. Holy crap was she awesome. Chris Pine was also good,
The movie was pretty good and I feel that everyone should see it. It doesn’t matter your age or your gender, just see it because we need more heroes like Wonder Woman out there. This film is what the Ghostbusters reboot was meant to do. It shows women in positions of power as well as vulnerability. Wonder Woman isn’t a Mary Sue. She doesn’t know everything. And Steve Trevor isn’t the white savior. They both learn from each other and grow together. In conclusion, was this film perfect? No. It was a little cliche’d at times and kinda bland. But did it suck? Not in the least. Is it worth watching? Absolutely. We need more films like this. The bar has finally been raised. So hopefully whatever comes after Wonder Woman (specifically in the female hero genre) will raise the bar even more.

ParticipantI thought it was boring in too many parts, cliched all over the place (I guessed just about every scene before it happened), all the Amazons sound like Gru, it was a total Captain America (a MUCH better movie) ripoff, the villains were boring, and the fight scenes too quick cut (as almost every movie made today is), except for one. I immediately disliked the young girl playing the young Diana, the acting was not too good either. In other words, I’ve seen better movies. And I saw it in IMAX 3D. Oh yeah, the 3D mostly sucked.

ParticipantUnlike Chris R.Notarile&a few other ppl,…I enjoyed the cliched parts but I’ve watched alot of B&W films growing up so it’s all pretty typical
That’s why I don’t consider it a TOTAL ripoff because every film set during any World War is beholden to 20s-40/50s era cliches/tropes
Capt.America was filled to very top with 40s cliches
The lil kid in me liked both movies but grown adult in me liked WW more than Capt.America
Seemed that WW has been written for empowering lil kids honestly & lil girls especially in hindsight
Also would’ve preferred Diana charging into 2 more battlefield action scenes
But i may be a little greedy on that end
Gru?? From Despicable ME??!!
Hahaha,..I can already hear trolls picking every Amazon scene apart because of their voices

Make Wonder Woman American again?

Participant“Again?” Wasn’t she from Themyscira?:P
Anyway, a woman like Lucy Lawless does look like an ancient warrior…and keep in mind that’s a video capture: they didn’t use Photoshop or a million “articles” describing her “gruesome” training.
“Training“…more like “swordfighting practice” to me. Hey, if ouy’re gonna play WW, you should know how to swing a prop around.
Daisy Ridley does that too, and she already looks fitter than GG.
Anyway, they say it’s a decent moovie, so let’s rejoice the DC movieverse still has something to give to it’s fans.June 9, 2017 at 11:06 am #135397unkn0wnx

Billed from Themyscira, but everyone know she is from America. Glad that Ridley looks fitter than her, but that’s not saying much. Yeah WW look too much like Xena and not the old WW we use to know, but I would have forgiven her if she was in a slight better shape.

ParticipantSorry, what I tried to express is:
“Lucy Lawless *looks* like an amazonian warrior, GG doesn’t. It’s not about the costume, the muscles, the fencing, the fx, or being an alleged Israeli Sup…Hypersoldier.”
Damn me and my poor English.
