Glad you're mending fences with your mom; sorry if there's still some holes, though.
I understand how easy it is to cross swords with your folks. I'm glad you've had a good strong relationship with your dad. I had a chunk of issues with mine, and while we'd ironed a good bit out, it wasn't until I'd gone to China before all the wrinkles were flattened.
I'm thanking the Lord for my Ma, of course. Wonder why we're better off with our opposite sexed parents?
Oh, and a side note to Pimp on a remark you'd made earlier:
As for Prayer: that is only for the weak and the lost in such times.
Your Flesh shall become your Idol, your routine your Prayer, your Diet your Sacrement.
Keep close what ever Faith you follow, but do not rely on it when you should rely on yourself.Uh, Pimp… as they say on the wrong side of the tracks, "I love ya, but I gotta cut ya."
Prayer's only for the weak and lost? George Washington was weak and lost? Martin Luther King, Jr. was weak and lost? Flo-Jo was weak and lost? Chuck Norris and Margaret Thatcher are weak and lost? The good chunk of female athletes out there are weak and lost?
Supergirl and Wonder Woman are weak and lost?
We are all weaker than Someone Else, Pimp.
And more times than we like, our selves just. Aren't. Enough. Otherwise, the lovely ladies wouldn't have come to this site to ask for help and advice in the first place.
And the body is a temple, as the Good Book says… but I've seen what happens when it becomes an idol. Steroids and binging and purging ring a bell?
I write this with all respect, TPNB: what good is the perfect body when you've sold your soul?
Back to NecrochildK: Keep working, and keep believing, and if you need help from Anyone, feel free to ask. 🙂
March 25, 2006 at 7:15 pm #24964The_Pimp_NeonBlackParticipantThe Soul, dear James, is the accumulation of a Lifetimes worth of Loves, Loss, Pain and Experience. Therefore, how can one 'Sell' it?
My's point is people are over reliant on their Prayers and never enough on themselves. Relying on some 'Otherworldly' Force, Entity or Will to make all things right in their lives rather than relying on their only Force and Will to chance themselves and their lives.
Martin Lurther King Jr. knew the limits of prayer and the limits of action. He was no fool and made men to act where his God could not. Was he weak and lost? Of course he was, but he knew where to find his strength again when he faulted.
All creatures in this Samsara world are Weak and Lost, dear James, that is the nature of this Continum. Some cling to notions and idealogies to make themselves stronger and give themselves solid ground on which to stand. Others fall to sports and activity for their strength. Others fall upon chemical dependances (such as I's once did) and make themselves all the weaker for it.Remember, whilst you all are lay safe within your rooms and yourselves, I's have stood within the Darkness, listening to the cries and lamentations of those whom Fell Too Far -failed by all Physics and Metaphysics.
And it is those such as I shall shall bare the beacon and become strength unto all others, even when they do not realise they are being aided, as is written in the precepts of my's Faith.
"True Good acts from the Darkness, so people do not see what is done. Thus they say: "It has always been" and all is in Accord under Heaven." -Lao Tze.
That is how I's attempt to live my's existence and, even though I's do often fail, I's keep trying. For that is how I's strive to remove the impurities of my's most Tainted Soul. Through my's own strengths and Force of Will. I's offer my's Prayers to others, Here & Past, though none I's untter for my's self. So, dear James, please do not oppose I with your mortality and I's shall not oppose thee with my's.
You still and shall always have my's up most respect.
Peace

Still, I don't think all that needs to be said on this has been said. However, this is NecrochildK's thread, not ours. So I think we'd better "take this outside" to a PM, or another board if others want to weigh in on the debate.
Unless Necrochild's got something to say on it? 🙂

Do as you will and I's shall abide.
March 25, 2006 at 7:44 pm #24967Deadly PixxxieParticipantYou need a workout buddy.
If I lived closer, I'd be your workout buddy….even though I'm a runner and I don't really do any weight lifting…. 😆

lol That would be cool. I have a brother that lives out close to your neck of the woods.

Sweet.
Do you run, also?

Heh, afraid not. I get winded too fast when upright. So I do cardio on a cycle I can lean back on. Might be something internal, I dunno.
March 25, 2006 at 8:00 pm #24971Deadly PixxxieParticipantHave you tried powerwalking?
Cardio on a bike is cool, too. I wish there were some good trails around here. I haven't ridden in ages.
March 25, 2006 at 9:05 pm #24972fbbfanParticipantWalking is a great exercise…go to park, heck..even a mall.
If I go to a mall, I make it a point to park very far, and walk all the way through the lot to go to Mall…
I try to avoid all the junk food places, and try to hit the GNC, or closest Health Store.I was never active or fit in the past, so working out these past 3 years, have been a real struggle,
it is not easy to work out, and in your case it is more difficult because of the negative stigma that you
are already encountering concerning female muscle….I have to say that I lot more people actually admire it than they let on.
For me it is very impressive to see people who obviously work hard to improve their health and physique…And as always, as a guy, I enjoy the seeing the very fit athletic female, but I greatly
prefer the very muscular look on a woman, as rare as it is in my area.Lots of luck to you. And don't give up.
