It is unfortunate that these women aren't featured in the media more. They are just not interested in doing anything groundbreaking.

That's interesting, because I'm more impressed with the media of Europe's FBB's than America's. Wasn't there a French teen bodybuilder featured on the news? What's her name, Gaston Kristina, or Munoz Pastory?

There was Sarah DeHerdt or something. And though my French is about as rusty as the Titanic, I think they made quite a few mentions to how she was very cute, so it was flattering too!

i am quite sure that it would be easier to have a fbb in american tv than in european tv.
just the reactions jana get in america is unbelievable.
allways she is in america the people stop her in the street or mall to ask to make a pic.

maybe the problem is that the american fbb dont have good pr-agents

Interesting. I like the exposure that Eurosport gives them, including the powerlifting events. But then Eurosport is a cable channel. ESPN here doesn't show anything except the occasional feature.

Sarah is Belgian. They are more open-minded than us ( but I'll never admit I said that in front of one of them  ;D)

ESPN stopped showing female bodybuilding competitions because the ratings were crap.  My guess is that ESPN2 stopped showing as much "fit chick" workout shows as it once did because it grew out of exploiting that ratings niche.  There are other, newer cable networks exploiting that niche, but their penetration rate is low in US households.

Also, please understand that in the early and mid-90s, ESPN2 was one of a small handful of media sources for those of us who like buff chicks.  As the internet began to mature as a medium for delivering images and video, the increasing number of choices crowded out some marginal providers.
