Games for Windows magazine (yeah, it's lame I know) has a "The Sims 3" preview this month, the arcticle says the characters bodies will have more range for fitness and weight representation.
at the bottom of a page of the article, you have a woman represented in about 12 different stages of skinny to fat to "strong" and, of course, the last 3 pictures are hidden but I guess the female sim would look "fit" "lean" and "cut"
Why did they hide the fittest 3 figures? beats me, they should have hidden the truly fat ones, for beauty's sake.
well at least they thought about it…and maybe its a surprise so they might look really good.
But this is good news because people no longer have to edit skins online…those look not so good.
Whats the verdict on this game? Anyone try it out?
I had a look at the game guide, and it appears 1) you can customize the muscularity of your sim (females included) 2) one of the "skill challenges" (under the atheletic skill) is to become a "bodybuilder" (females included) and 3) one of the skill "opportunities" — a challenge that if succesfully completed results in the improvement of that skill — is the "muscle showdown".
Looks like a fun game in any case.
Let us know anything.
Whoops, I forgot to tell you guys about this.
From the video I saw, you have a "beefy" bodybuilder type woman but not in the sense we know in love. It's really just a thick looking version of the sim. The designer said "We wanted to keep the female sims as feminine as possible and we found that adding more muscle made them look a little masculine. So though you can add muscle, it is not to an extreme that they are unrecognizable as females."
I don't think they get abs either.
I tried it out, but you could never get good results. Even with the most optimal circumstanses you con't even rech a 'fit' look.
Booo.
Well…luckily, there will be someone out there that will put out a mod to change the models.
I don't know, I was pretty satisfied with muscular adults. Of course, the males are much bigger. Sure, the females weren't huge, but there is some size there (you can spot it with some fat…), and I bet there's a way to hack them now that the functionality is there. I'm sure the first hacks will be boobs, but bigger muscles for all ages should come around eventually. I may try it myself. Right now I'm frustrated with an endless loop on a refrigerator cleaning routine, which sims annoyingly do automatically. They still need food, but if your house's fridges are messed up, you will get a guaranteed hang-crash every time.
