What I find is impressive (even more so then the fact that you can animate.. Ive tried everything and still can't XD) is that you've had her for so long!
My characters tend to die or get forgotten sometimes.. I think the oldest character I can remember is my Kina, who I've had for.. probably about six years, but she's pretty much forgotten.
Another older one is Veiya, and she's not quite forgotten… just not very popular. But still! Hooray! Animation!
September 9, 2005 at 1:53 am #13022David C. MatthewsParticipantNice – tell me – how do you do your animations? They seem particularly quick and painless. 🙂
Quick, maybe. Painless??? 😆 😆 😆
The same animation capabilities that the now-discontinued Dabbler program had can be found in Corel Painter, which does give you the ability to view up to five frames at a time via an "onion-skin" feature.
I don't remember exactly, but it's possible I drew the first image on paper and scanned it, but the remaining cels were drawn in Dabbler. (I somehow had the presence of mind to save out the individual frames as separate documents, so they can easily be brought into Painter if I was to get the desire to finish the animation – clean up and complete the drawings and add color, etc.)
It's actually only the third animation I've finished; the other two were just a single pic, parts of which I manipulated with transform tools in Photoshop. (These would be the "Cable Curl" animated GIF and the infamous – and NSFW!! – "Pec Dance".) The main complaint I – and others – have with those two animations that the only moving part is, well, the moving part; there are no eye blinks, no other subtle movements of head or other bodyparts, etc. So what I like about this clip is that it's full animation: almost everything that needs to move is moving – the head is turning so that the eyes are looking at one arm, the chest is rising, even the pecs are flexing a bit (and pulling the breasts up with them).

A suggestion: since I was not familiar with your work until you started showing up in these forums, I'm assuming there are many others in the same situation. So maybe a relaunch of Kina and Veiya is in order! Even if it's just as a series of pictures… I'm guessing you might have a bigger audience here at Amaz0ns than in your previous venues.
But still! Hooray! Animation!
Hmm… maybe I should finish this thing! Great Maker knows I've wanted to do an animation of one of my charcters flexing her mighty muscles for… well, since 1999 at least!
September 9, 2005 at 2:12 am #13024AnonymousGuestThat sounds like two great ideas, DCM! Of course we'd all love to see the animation finished (but I can appreciate the horrific amount of work involved in doing so!)
I think it would be great to see some of your older work too, Kulli, if you fancy posting any of it.
September 9, 2005 at 2:18 am #13025David C. MatthewsParticipantGee-zuz, she's BIG!
I mean, BIG!
…how'd she get so big??
😀
You mean now, as compared to her size in this animation? Clean living and being respectful of her elders, I guess! 😆
Seriously, I've just been drawing her bigger and bigger over the years. If you haven't seen them yet, you might want to check out these two galleries (Gallery 1 and Gallery 2) to see how she's changed over the years. And if you haven't checked it out yet, you might want to read the story of how she got her size.
(Why, yes, I am a link whore. Why do you ask?)

I lost interest in Kina really.. so that was pretty much the end of that.
With Veiya.. well… I never got much of a response to her, so I kept all my ideas on that lot quiet. I tend to play to my audience a little even if I don't mean to..But I tend to draw the characters I really connect with. Like I used to have this character called Zeek, and I loved him to bits, but after so long I got bored with him and killed him off.
That's when I started making up new characters, like them grey-skinned people I draw so much XD first one I made up was some guy called Endro, took me a while to make one I connected with, which was Lu, but she's definately had a good run I'd say! It's just how it goes.

I threw out a lot of my older work! It was just clutter…
But honestly, I hate my older work! It looks so awful!September 9, 2005 at 11:20 pm #13028peteParticipantVery impressive little animation DCM. As far as I can make out, there are 12 frames in it. What impresses me most is that you managed to keep all the images in the centre of the frame. And to have animated all the body parts, rather than just one, is pretty darn clever too.
In my meagre attempts, the drawing moves around the frame a little, making the whole thing quite a lot less smooth.
If I can find a way of making my little gifs smaller, I will post a couple just to show you lads and lasses what NOT to do….LOL

Very nice. It's interesting how her face also changed through the drawings.
And if you haven't checked it out yet, you might want to read the story of how she got her size.
😮 WOW.
And speaking of "drawing her bigger and bigger," it seems she gets much bigger in her comic than even the "extreme gallery."
Which begs the question: how much bigger will she get in the future? 👿

Links to all of that wonderful art? Whore all you want, sir! (er… so to speak…)

But honestly, I hate my older work! It looks so awful! That's a shame. I know a lot of artists feel the same way about their older art, but to other people these are lovely works nonetheless. But yeah, I wouldn't repost some of my early morphs either, so *shrug*
Still, I'm very glad DCM has kept his older stuff and it looks great today too! Thanks again, Dave!
