This is in no way about validation from my peers.  I've been going over the story for my own reasons and polishing some of the rough spots that always bothered me as well as rewriting a few of the earlier chapters (I had never intended the story to be that long when I first started it and the lack of direction shows in the earliest chapters).  Since I'm reworking it anyway I was just curious to see whether or not anyone else would want to read (or reread) it.

Well, then, I'd say the interest is there- certainly repost it.  It's a classic, one of the best written, and it really shouldn't be hidden away…

    I'll all for reading it.

    Put it up.

Since there seems to be a few who wouldn't mind reading (or rereading) The Necklace I'll repost it.  I don't plan on posting directly to amaz0ns, rather I think I'm going to post it to my DA page.  But never fear, I'll put links up here in the forum whenever a new chapter goes up.  Though as I mentioned, I'm in the processing or retouching it so it will be a week or two before chapters start popping up.

Anybody remember any of the URLs for the old sites mentioned (ZZZ's board, the geocity site, the archive, etc) so that we might take a peek with the wayback machine?

    (OK, Edit isn't working)

Found ZZZ's boards, but sadly archive.org's records on it only go back to 2001; other parts of archive.org's wayback machine date back to 1996, but not ZZZ's board.

It's possible to view portions of my old site with the way back machine but there's a lot missing.  Pretty much all the artwork, some of my short stories and a few random chapters of the Necklace all failed to be archived intact.  I never understood what causes the wayback machine to grab most of a site and miss the rest, I don't think I've ever seen one perfectly archived.

It's possible to look at ZZZ's GTS and EG forums of the past via the I.W.M., but only of the dated saves and unfortunately (at least when I investigated it some yrs back) the links on the forum board(s) didn't have the posted pages connected to them.

Interesting postscript.  Back when ZZZ was still active (this was when he gravitated to GTS.com) he posted a link to an archived HTML page of his earlier GTS forum (pre-GTS Grows), complete with all of the contributed data.  Amongst the active participants were such notable personalities as Agent M and Jenn Jenn (anyone remember them?) Of the materials posted there were some GTS stories I'd never heard of before, as well as a number of works in progress, that included the one by Hi-Standard that became GTS Chronicles: Growth Encounter.
