Whitewashing use to bother me until I worked in the Biz as they say…
Once you hear enuff BTS tales from ppl fighting with studios to make a film
You reach the epiphany that certain film/Tv projects won’t get made unless (hot/sexy celebrity) is attached
Not everyone has the clout Arnold has,..Bloody hell,Arnold doesn’t have Arnold clout anymore

I saw it in 3D IMAX. Visually stunning, thin plot. The ‘muscle sequence’ you are referring too is, in the eyes of most people here, very disappointing. I’ll buy the 3D DVD though, no doubt.

Muscle sequence?? Oh, I think my imagination could fill in a lot if even they hinted at something like this with Scarlett Johansson. I very much enjoyed “Lucy”. I find this aspect of female power growth very intriguing also.

He is refering to this sequence in the animated movie https://youtu.be/YKdGc9bomRI?t=1m14s

I think they did something “similar” in the live action.

Hi y’all. New to the Forum.

I saw this movie last weekend in 3D IMAX. Although the dialogue was occasionally cringeworthy and the plot setup was (in my opinion) contrived, I allowed myself to enjoy the movie. It’s visually arresting, and preserves the look, feel, and texture of the world of the cartoon from 1995. It doesn’t make the same grasp at profundity as the original, which could be a weakness if that is something you really found compelling in the cartoon.

There was indeed a brief “muscle sequence” as Major rips off pieces from the top of the spider-tank, a la the original, albeit not one so shocking as in the animated film. In the live-action film, the Major is in a bodysuit on top of the tank, attempting to rip off a piece a large panel from above. You clearly see a special effect of Scarlett’s biceps and back muscles growing somewhat larger as she strains briefly before tearing herself to pieces.

I wasn’t expecting this at all, so perhaps that’s why I wasn’t disappointed; to see *any* amount of a discrete muscle growth effect in Scarlett Johansson, who many consider to be the most beautiful woman in Hollywood, was real nice.

Thanks for the details 🙂 I’m very surprised they did anything at all, something to look forward too now.
