Giganta the Gorilla Girl was a Golden Age foe of Wonder Woman who appeared on one of the "Super Friends" animated series. She was a gorilla who was artificially evolved into a human woman by a scientist called Professor Zool. In the "Super Friends" series, she was also depicted with the ability to grow to a height of fifty feet or more; she was depicted in the series and in the original comics as a big, brawny redhead with superhuman strength, and in the animated series, she was depicted as wearing a giraffe skin dress (ironically, in the comic where she first appeared, WONDER WOMAN #9, she didn't actually have a costume; she wore a spare Holliday Girl's outfit. It was a phony Giganta employed by the actor Bedwin Footh who first actually wore the giraffe skin dress; the real Giganta only wore the giraffe skin dress in the "Villainy, Incorporated" story arc, in which all the best of the female Wonder Woman villains teamed up against the Amazon Princess – and were soundly defeated).
