Thank you for sharing the barely contained power of Miss Veldt.
What was her particular class and archetype when was first given her look in City OF Heroes. Does she have an arch foe developed in City OF Villains?
The pictures are cosmically enriched teasing and appreciated.
After seeing the first commission, most people thought she was a Peacebringer, but she actually hit 50 before these came out. She was a good ol' Scrapper (Martial Arts/Invulnerability).
I never made an arch foe for her after City of Villains came out. She was originally designed as an homage character to the bad girls of comics, and as such she pretty much embodied their worst stereotypes. She was one of the good guys, mind you. But she was a buffed, busty and bitchy heroine, and a bad ass Scrapper. To try and make her a nemesis, badder and sassier than her? Nah, I didn't think so. 😛

:-[ Yah. Over the last three years, about 2000$ dollars in commissioned artwork. These days I can't afford so much as I have other real life projects to work on. But I'll probably keep commissioning artwork for quite some time. Strangely enough, these days the biggest difficulties is in finding artists to work with.
My dream would be to commission Todd Lockwood, but he's kinda expensive. ::Laugh:: ;D

That KA-CHING! sound you hear is the cash register in my head. ;D
Amazons should devote a special wing of the site just to you. A penthouse suite for one of the best commissioners out there. 😉

Ah! I wish.
I did go a bit overboard during that time. But going through a divorce and suddenly being single after nearly a decade… I needed something to keep my imagination occupied.
These days I'm not spending as much on the girl, not that one at least. 😛 I haven't commissioned anything for Veldt in nearly a year. But I got a thing or two in the work, I'm just waiting for an answer from the artists. Hopefully it will work out.

It’s probably my favourite representation of Veldt as it shows her the way I always imagined her to be. The piece has style and dynamism, the coloring is gorgeous and Veldt is… well, just look at her. 😮 [file name=2jE0b0pB__Reiq.Veldt_In_Action size=240915]http://amaz0ns.com/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/files/2jE0b0pB__Reiq.Veldt_In_Action[/file]

Heh, trust me, I am! Thanks for sharing your collection again, DevonCory!

My pleasure. 🙂 I've been collecting this stuff for so long…
I just hope that there's a few artists around, who have freely shared their work with us in the past, who looked at these pieces of artwork and who enjoyed them. Yah, that's probably a lot of money I'm throwing out the windows, but nonetheless, this is for them.
July 21, 2008 at 12:50 am #73604DevonCoryParticipantWhen I started doing business with Reiq, we first agreed to three commissions and then to five. For the last one, I wanted to see his take on Veldt’s demonic problem. As I mentioned before, Veldt got her powers from an entity she harboured in herself and under extreme circumstances, these powers would manifest through her body. Since this was the last commission, I wanted to see some of these extreme circumstances.
Unfortunately, it didn’t really turn out as I expected… or maybe I was expecting too much. It’s still a gorgeous piece, mind you. I do like it. The coloring is great and the energetic exoskeleton a very nice touch but… her muscular quality didn’t turn out so well, and I really (really) (did I already say really) wanted her to be heavier up top.
Ah well. :-
Next: Growth. Oh yah! ;D

I have to say, it's a beautiful piece… but she just looks a little too… "cute," maybe? I think I would have gone in entirely different direction, making her look more powerful, bigger and more… *hungry*-looking. She does look sexy in this picture, but just not at all powerful or intimidating.
