    It's not a new book/series – the first volume was published in the mid-80's.

    Just a suggestion, if time and $$$ is a budget factor, you can pick up 2nd-hand editions of most books at eBay's Half.com resale site.

    Is it any good, though?  That's really the most important thing to know about a novel!
