If you're an Amazon lover,  a lover of kick ass wimmen (deliberate misspell; if you get the reference) then run don't walk to GRINDHOUSE, the latest from Tarrantino/Rodriguez. It tries to duplicate the sleazy horror/action double features from the days of The Duece (42nd Street Times Square) or any american urban movie house from the 70's and early 80's. It features kick ass women galore from Rose Mcgowan and especially Kiwi stuntwoman Zoe Bell, who doubled for Lucy Lawless and is simply amazing. My new dream girl.

Problem is, it's playing well on the east and west coasts, but not well in the south and midwest. I suspect that there is "cultural memory" of 42nd street type venues in the big cities of the northeast. On the west coast you'd have something like Hollywood Blvd. back in the day. Down south this may have been less likely. Besides to the southern/midwestern audience, 42nd street was a place to avoid in the 70s.

Still, highly recommended for seeing it with an audience. Also highly recommended for seeing it high.
