    Granted, you're right to some extent, but for her it may also be a way to connect with her fans.  Most of us are here to see just this sort of thing anyhow. Some of us may enjoy the chance to communicate with her. What's the harm if it also happens to promote her career?

    My sentiments exactly.  I'd have a problem if the only content of her posts was "visit my site"; but she shares photos and news about her career… I'd say she's "earning her keep".
