For Christmas, I thought that I had to post a little gift for you guys ( and girls, too).  :-*
So, today, you'll see the outrageous, scandalous, gorgeous HERICANE!! Most of the scans are very well-known and I'm sure that most of you already saw them, but it's the occasion to remind you of these glorious days (1994-1995) when some talented artists (Hughes, Manara, Mc Guire, Masamune Shirow, etc…) weren't afraid of being published drawing some rather kinky drawings…
And for the others, it's time that you meet that sulfurous super-heroine… No.02 (JULY/AUG 1994)

For the new year, I'll post more if you are interested. If not, tell me, so I try to find something else…  😉

Heh!  I remember coming across Hericane in Penthouse Comix when I was just 17 in France of all places.  I bought both issues and tried to buy every other one as it came out, but they were impossible to get in the UK after that.

Apart from sexy Hericane, there was also a story about a female doctor who invented a superserum during WWII that turned her into a fairly buff superwoman whenever she orgasmed.  I can't remember the name of it now, but that strip was just up our street.  It's a pity I lost all my issues in a house move a number of years ago.  Penthouse Comix started out with some sexy superbabes in their stories, but quite quickly left that great start and went into more boring 'normal' subjects, which was a pity.

Nevertheless, there was a definite trend for musclebabes of some description throughout the run.  Check this cover out:

    That was Doctor Dare.  😉

So, I guess that I'll have to scan some more.  ;D You'll see Emily (Hericane) posing as a new superbeing: Diesel Dyke.

    Hi Ze,

Thanks for the name – I remember the strip now.  It's a shame they didn't keep the artist that worked on Dr Dare on the first issue – he was really cool and drew women more closely to our tastes…

Don't worry about the scanning.  Your post inspired me to go on a trawl of the internet and I've managed to find most of the issues (including a high quality pdf of issue 16 – aka the 'helicopter' sequence).  I'll post it at the Xtreme Strength FTP site presently…

Sheesh!  I've spent a number of hours trying to upload the full list of files to the Xtreme Strength FTP site, but although most of them have gone on ok, a number of them have had upload errors.  Because you're not allowed to delete anything you upload, you can't overwrite them, and I'd have to go back through and rename all the files I wanted to upload but I have to go to see relatives for a few days now, so I'll do that when I get back.

Anyway, most of them are on there correctly (several hundred megs of them).

For those of you without FTP programs I suggest you get one to do this rather than use your browser (as this is incredibly slow on download generally).  Firefox has a great FTP plug-in called FireFTP that you can download for free.  I use it myself.

That would make an awesome superhero name.
