Warner Brothers announced who the villians are in the next Batman movie, “Dark Knight Rises”, and who will play them.
The male villian is Bane, he’ll be played by Tom Hardy. A good choice, a good actor. I imagine they’ll probably somehow CGI Bane’s later extreme muscularity.
The villianess is Catwoman, a fan favorite that brings some dangerous sexuality to the story. The problem is, skinny little, anorexic Anne Hathaway will be playing her. She’s a great actress, but her physical build is all wrong. Catwoman should be lithe, athletic and sensual, all things Ms Hathaway is not.
And they did so good on the first 2.
Thrrpt.

And if they can bulk up tp the extreme Hardy, they sure can do something for ms Hathaway (not that they might)
PS: I’m obviously going to see it more than once thou.

I don’t believe it, I don’t want to believe it. Christopher Nolan spent this much time grounding Bruce Wayne into a believable character, gave us two incredible super hero movies filled with intrigue, and instead of fleshing that character out more he’s going to make a movie where the villains are Bane and fucking Catwoman?
No, this is a hoax. I can’t believe that he’s going to completely give up on fleshing out Bruce Wayne’s character by pitting him against the two least intellectually challenging villains in the Batman universe.
Clay Face would be a more interesting villain than those two, and he wouldn’t even make sense! No I’m gonna hold out on the belief that the next villain is gonna be someone like the Riddler or Hugo Strange… or, hell, Inspector Bullock even, I could see him as a badguy role given how the second movie ended.

Most People are not too happy about Bane being in this new movie. However, even when bane was often depicted as a mindless muscle-bound brute, he is actually very SMART and calculating in the comics.
There was this storyline called “Knightfall” where bane did what nobody else could do. He BROKE Batman with his own hands. But before that, he released several criminals so that even when batman had caught them all, he would be too tired to defend himself from bane, especially after fighting crime all night long.
I think this movie will be most likely based off the Knightfall story. And if I am correct, Nolan will depict Bane as a very tough villain who will not only beat Batman physical, but also mentally as well.
And as for Cat-woman, A lot of people would have in mind which actress should play Selina Kyle. But i think that Anna would be a good choice. Her acting is pretty good, especially in that movie Rachael’s getting married. Besides, if you think about, you could imagine the sexual tension and chemistry between Bale and Anna in their characters. So what if her body isn’t too to bar.
Because Nolan’s version of Batman is supposed to be mostly realistic, it would be nice if the Riddler or Hugo Strange were in Batman 3. Then again those two are in the game Arkham City. I always thought that it would be nice to see Arkham Alysium in Dark Knight Rises.
So my Point is that
A Bane IS an INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGING villain, he just has that “steroid-using” drug to make him more of a Physical threat to Batman.B Anne Hathaway would make a good Cat-woman, if not her “Selina Kyle” alter ego would make this movie interesting.
I don’t care much for Nolan’s version of batman but i’ll definitly watch this movie if those two are in this movie.

January 20, 2011 at 10:48 am #98423TC2ParticipantI’m not too thrilled on Bane or Anne Hathaway, but I have loved watching the Nolan Batman movies so far. I hate Bale’s Batman voice with a passion and think he looks stupid in the batsuit, but everything else about the bat films is great.
I think Anne is an awful choice, she just doesn’t have the body or the presence of a catwoman. Anne is very pretty and beautiful but she’s not in my opinion “sexy”. Her face just seems too soft and not mature or “hardened” enough for a villain like catwoman.
Bane however, I do know to be a very intelligent bat villain that if done right, would be an excellent match for Batman. Remember this is Nolan direction, not Shumacher so am hoping Nolan’s version of Bane will do the character justice.
As always, Nolan’s choices for Batman are once again controversial. I mean you had Liam Neeson as Rahs al ghul and Heath Ledger as Joker. Not exactly the first choice for each of those characters, but they did well in their roles.
I have confidence Nolan will do Batman right and hopefully will surprise us with a ridiculously sexy Anne Hathaway.

January 20, 2011 at 4:11 pm #98428HolidayParticipantI was surprised by the announcement, but I’m not disappointed. Hathaway is a good actress. I don’t know if Nolan even plans to put her in the catsuit, because she’ll be less convincing than ScarJo did as Black Widow. Until we get some details of her character she might not even the Frank Miller version.
The only question I can think of if whether or not Catwoman dies in this movie.
January 20, 2011 at 9:13 pm #98432DTMParticipantIm not upset about Anne Hathaway being Catwoman at all, she kicked Major Butt in Get Smart, and to me shes a sexy, and seductive woman. Bane is an interesting choice, but one that could work, as he is a near equal to Batman mentally, and his superior physically, so this could be an interesting choice here.
January 20, 2011 at 11:47 pm #98435BlackKusanagiParticipantYeah. I have faith in Anne. Surprised, but I expect Nolan wont disappoint.
