ParticipantI really like this character! Nice job, Dr. Otto!
She'd beat Asian FBBs like Tomoko Kanda or Aki Nishimoto, no contest.

ParticipantI like the character but – and I know you've heard this a lot in this thread – the arms need work.
HOWEVER…
…I DON'T think the biceps need trimming. What bothers me is the fact that the forearms look skinny compared to the biceps. I think they need a bit of thickening to make them proportional with her massive biceps.
Is it just me, or does she go to the same hair salon as Andrah…? 😉

ParticipantThe forearms I'm leaving alone, largely because I *want* them to be smaller. I don't want to draw each character in exactly the same manner, so for this particular character, the legs and forearms will be a bit out of proportion (if that's even possible on a character that's out of proportion to begin with). I might make them a *little* bigger in future revisions, but they'll still be notably disproportionate.
Mind you, I still appreciate the feedback, but some things are the way they are by design. The (original) biceps weren't, but the rest were intentional design choices. I kinda felt that drawing essentially the same body with a different head each time just wasn't working for me, so now I've got to find new ways to get certain characters to stand out. In this case, some degree of disproportion amongst the muscle groups adds a bit of diversity and imperfection to the character…she might be huge, but she's certainly not going to win any bodybuilding competitions. :p Imperfections like these I believe add a bit of tangibility and realism to an otherwise incredulous character…I realize that this particular tack is a bit risky in that less people will like the finished result, but I'm okay with that. As mentioned earlier, she HATES leg exercises and has to be goaded into doing them, but loves working on her upper body and biceps/triceps. Forearms, apparently, are not very high on her priority list. :p

ParticipantIt's nice you made her curvy. Asian fbb's without busts is like flat soda.

ParticipantThat is one very nice and bestial upper body. Kudo's man! "D

ParticipantThanks…I try to avoid cliche, but that doesn't mean I don't fall right into it a bunch. 🙂 For this character I really wanted something a bit different from the rest of my concepts because I plan on doing a lot with her over time. This one is my Lu, Tetsuko, or Ness. 🙂
It is interesting you say that. Because she's nothing like Ness. But she's more like Molly, whom very few people have seen… *enigmatic glance*
Regardless, I like the pic and the biography. Also, the proportions of Hong Kong are all over the place. Now, here's what I think –
Her proportions being weird – it's obvious you want them to be not right to emphasise how oddly her body works. I think it works.
However, when combined with her biography which has a lot more attempt to be reflective of our real world, that body wouldn't happen. While some parts of certain people's bodies will grow faster than others, the body requires a certain level of balance in order to effectively work – and Hong Kong works against this.
I think however, once animated into a story, that latter point wouldn't be a problem, but for poses, it's too stark of a contradiction perhaps.
It's good though. 🙂

ParticipantThat's an interesting observation…could be that she might just need a few more trips though the design board. It could be that the style might need to be adjusted to suit the concept more.

ParticipantWell it could be that her forearms are smaller because she used straps a lot. Perhaps her hands are small and she needed them to grip the bar better. As for the lower body perhaps it's just funky genetics. Not every gal can have thighs like Heather Policky. ;D
