Why should I pay for what I can make myself.
True, but then not all of us are talented artists. đ Why, oh why did I stop art class when I was a kid!?
I'm quite happy to pay for it to be honest. I generally sign up for a month, cancel, then join up again a few months down the line, but during those months I try out other sites. So I'm routinely spending somewhere between $10-30 a month on this stuff. Which is a lot now that I think about it… đ
Hum… that's pretty much what I do. But I don't think it's a lot. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I'm not a nightclubber, I hate cell phones and I pack my lunch every day I'm in the office. Except for 20$ or so in comic books every month (something I've been doing since I was a kid), I don't spend a lot of money on "stuff". So really, what is 10 to 30$ a month on websites?
Whatever the cost of specialized commissons are…because that's just about the only thing that even comes close to what I like.
That's the problem really. Someone can spend 50$ a month on memberships and never be completely satisfied. The best, the only way someone can really get what he likes is through commissions. But finding the right artist, and having a good understanding with him or her is hard… and expensive.
Take me for example. I commissioned an artist a few months ago for a growth sequence and I commissioned him again a few weeks ago because I felt the sequence was incomplete. By the time the sequence is completely done, the way I want it, it's going to be 30 pages long… and will have cost me about 800$.
Probably the best 800$ I'll ever spend. But will I do it again? I don't think so. :- Will I share it with everyone here? I don't know. I alone paid for it after all. :- On the other hand, if a bunch of us decided to call DC Matthews or 00tree or Lingster and ask for special custom artwork or animation, a commission everyone involved would agree on as far as content and style is concerned, I'd probably chip in.
Is such an option possible? Dunno…
November 14, 2007 at 9:01 am #63264LuParticipantGeneral fetish-related things.. I don't pay for, because what I want to see, I'll draw myself.
I'd only buy a commission if the artist has a style I like and respect, or something like that.
Nah, general thing is, I know what I like and I can tailor it to my own tastes.. for free.November 14, 2007 at 9:36 am #63265TC2ParticipantIf it's a really stellar project and I've got the cash to spend, sure I'll spend on it. But lately there hasn't been anything that has really WOWED me enough to warrant purchasing. So I just make my own projects and that keeps me happy enough.
P.S to Cashews
Don't need art class to be able to draw well, just need to practice, practice, practice!

January 9, 2008 at 9:53 pm #63267imrodhullParticipantI tend to pay for things I can't easily do myself (I don't think my wife would approve of me hiring models to do my own photoshoots!). I do love drawings and comics depicting my various fetishes but have never paid to join such a site or bought such artwork. I'm fairly handy with a pencil so I've drawn for my own pleasure in the past. I'm not saying my pics are as good as those available commercially but I can't join every site so tend to go for photo ones. I have held fairly long subscriptions on various femdom and fetish sites including individual model's sites paying up to ÂŁ25pm but only one FBB site (Annie Rivieccio's).
Haven't held a subscription for over a year now but I have recently discovered the Muscle Sensuality site and may break my fast. Any members of this site who might share their opinions?January 13, 2008 at 9:19 am #63268MuscleSarahParticipantThis weekend I decided to join Digital Amazons (www.digital-amazons.com) for the first time. I had seen some of their work here and there and knowing that they had recently published their first growth sequence, I thought it was a good time to see what else they had to offer.
Wanting to build some anticipation, I first decided to look at their previous work, keeping the growth sequence for last. After going through most of their artworks, comics and animations, I must say that I was a little disappointed. Itâs not that it wasnât any good, the arts and animations are possibly the best Iâve ever seen, but it just wasnât what I was looking for. As a fan of Female Muscle Growth, Iâm very much into âgrowthâ and there wasnât any on the website. When I want female muscles, I prefer the real thing to computer generated animations and thus, that 12.95$ I had paid for my membership started to look at little too expensive.
Then, after watching the growth sequence a few dozen times, I decided that 12.95$ wasnât too bad, and that I would willingly to pay more than that if Digital Amazons would start producing other such sequences on a monthly basis.
And this got me thinking⌠just how much someone would be willing to pay to indulge his fetishism?
I know I donât mind if the price is reasonable and if I can get what I want, but what about everyone else? How much is someone willing to pay for a monthly membership or for a commission? How much is someone willing to pay to keep an artist or a website alive, knowing that most people would rather rip off, share without a thought and have a promising website die down or an artist disappear in disgust?
How much are you willing to pay?
Join a gym, it costs more than $12.95/month but you can see real women transforming their real bodies! doesn't happen as fast of course….
So it's the gym for me, and I do buy bodybuilding magazines though.
I don't consider any of those a waste.

Although, I don't pay money for many forms of media either, whether it be games, movies, television shows etc. unless it's really worth it I find a way around the price.

As to my own answer – yes, I have and do pay for material that is of good quality.
