ParticipantHello folks,
today I want to tell you about my folks. You know, we are only a few hundred on Earth. We look like your regular next door girl or woman, too. OK, like your regular beautiful next door girl (or woman). I know, it sounds really arrogant, but its the truth. Don't blame me.
We do life much longer, too. My mother and I, we always want to laugh, when politicians argue about germany getting too old. My folk has a average age of 601 years, that's really old. OK, we can't run out and tell anybody, but my mother looks more like my older sister. Even my grandma doesn't really look old enough to be my mother.
There are things we really need to keep secret most is not our age but something else. We got special powers. Our main power is our strength, but we are mostly invulnerable, extremely fast and we can fly. That's the stuff all of us can do. But we get some individual powers, too. Some of us even find new powers at the age of 200 or even older.
My own powers are pretty special, too, even by our standard. I am one of the strongest, with my 14 years of age now, and our strength stops growing around the 25th birthday, normally. At least that is what everybody else thinks, I know I'm more then twice as strong as the next strongest of us. At least that is what I think, there could be someone even stronger and not telling, like me, too.
My individual powers are, that I can create heat from my fingers, that I can look through thin material and that I got a perfect memory.
That perfect memory and a talent for languages, got me the ability to speak 14 languages fluently, among this english, japanese and german, and learn new languages in weeks, or even days if I want to.
I got a cousin that is like a computer. She can calculate huge equations only in her head, in milliseconds. One of my friends can read minds. Im really happy she doesn't do it that often. But she can talk to other people telepathically, too, that is way cool. I would lake to be able to do that, too. But I can't mourn too much, can I.
I think you are wondering why I always talk about super women. Where are the super men, you surely think. Its pretty easy, there aren't any. The gene responsible for obtaining super powers is located in the last X-chromosome, which is only available in women. At least that's what my mother and some of the others told me.
We look good, not only from normal standards. Im not blonde, even if some people think I should be, but brunette, but my hair is really long. It goes down to my knees. The problem is easy, its hard to cut my hair. In our learngroup we tried to cut our hairs with everything available to us. Not a chance. Even the LASER that can cut hardened steel in seconds didn't leave a single mark at one of my hairs. So we don't have identical hair colors, but we all have those shining green eyes. And I mean shining, they are emitting a little amount of light. That's a reason why I shouldn't be in a really dark room with other people.
And I got a body with my 14 years of age, to make most grown women green with envy. Big breasts, at least for my age, slender waist, really long legs that bring me even now to 1,74m tall, and pretty broad hips. I'm really lucky I can defend myself.
I'm being taught in two different schools. First, I go to normal german "Gymnasium", that is, for all of you not familiar with the german school-system, one of three schools we can choose from, after elementary school. On the other hand I go to some kind of supergirls school. Since we are only a few hundred on earth, the learngroups, as we call those, are pretty small. We meet at the night from saturday to sunday between 5 PM and 4 AM and learn new stuff or play little games. Those games can be different. Sometimes we only sit around a table playing cards. On those occasions the hardest thing is not to use our powers to cheat. But we also learn a little about our history, but in which things we really were involved in what way, I better don't tell anybody. We learn to use our powers, and how we can use them the best way. And we have some little toys. Like the LASER I talked about before, that uses as much power as a little town does. We have some weapons, too. Nothing really dangerous, only guns and knives and such stuff. We play with those, too, sometimes. The player shoots the gun and has to catch the bullet as fast as possible. The one who got the bullet the fastest wins. Im good at this game.
At my normal school I have to hide, too. I hate it. I have to wear those ugly glasses, and to hide my body in really weird clothes. Of course I'm only allowed to use any of my powers in an emergency. OK, I broke that rule more then once, but I was really careful not to be seen. I'm really good with school-stuff, with my perfect memory and all. Only at P.E. I have to goof up really often, so nobody sees I could win any sport I wanted without even trying.
The rule about hiding first came in the 16th century. Before that it was allowed to show the powers, but some people of the time started to think we were angels and godsend and we should not been touched by normals. Sometimes when one of us decided for a normal as a boyfriend or husband, those were hunted by the other people because they broke a rule. They had to defend their boyfriends, just because they were their boyfriends. After that we decided to hide.
Now we only can show our powers in emergencies. That is when somebody is in mortal danger, we are allowed to rescue that person. But we have to help, if the danger was created by one of us.
I understand of course, why we can't show our powers, but why do I have to wear those ugly clothes? The words I have to hear with my sensitive ears are not very nice. If my schoolmates just knew what I really look like, I don't think they'd be so rude. On the other hand, nobody would accuse me of destroying stuff with my hands alone as I did sometimes when they really got to my nerves.

ParticipantThat's an interesting set-up – I'd love to how you expand on it! Thanks for sharing!

ParticipantAn interesting beginning, as Fonk said. I like Chrisi's personality- very confident (and why shouldn't she be?) yet still pretty innocent, nonetheless. I can only imagine that an immensely powerful teenager must be very difficult to raise around normals, even if you yourself have superpowers; I can hardly wait to see how her Mom handles it (let alone her father- they still have to have normals for reproduction, right? could be very awkward).
