    Yeah, it's a shame you lost your artist, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. Not to worry though, I'm sure with enough practice with references you'll soon be able to master the shapes well enough to do your own under drawings. Thinking of someone like Alex Ross's art, I think watercolor art would suit your story really well.
