    Pop Starlet Goes On Rampage

    Los Angeles (AP)

Pop star Britney Spears went on a rampage last night after police officers attempted to enforce a court ordered drug test, according to the Associated Press. An anonymous Los Angeles police source reportedly said 23 officers were injured in the melee, 2 of them were listed in serious condition.

The incident began shortly after nine P.M., when officers arrived at the singer's Beverly Hills mansion with orders to take her to the hospital for the court ordered test. A tense stand off developed after Miss Spears initially refused to go along with the court order. News helicopters showed dozens of police cars surrounding the property, while police officers at the front door, tried to convince the former teen princess to go peacefully.

The trouble began when an officer unintentionally tazered the volatile pop diva while negotiations were still underway. Helicopter footage showed an enraged Spears charging the officers, sending many of them to the ground. Several officers sprang forward in an attempt to restrain her, but were unable to control the infuriated starlet. Officers were seen being hurled through the air like rag dolls by the curvaceous singer. As the police officers beat a hasty retreat, Miss Spears began taking out her anger on police vehicles. A SWAT vehicle was overturned and pushed down the driveway. She then took a police motorcycle and began using it as a club, destroying several police cars, before flinging it over the gate and into the street. From overhead news helicopters, the muscular pop singer could be seen lifting and throwing several police cars towards the front gate of the mansion.

After the singer stormed back inside her mansion, ambulances raced to the scene to treat the injured officers. The officer who had fired the tazer was reportedly listed in serious but stable condition. The District Attorney's office was seeking to defuse the situation saying "At this stage, there's really not a lot we can do about it until Miss Spears agrees to abide by the court ordered drug test. So far, she hasn't presented a threat to the general public, so at this point, the ball is in her court. We just hope she does the right thing."

Police had withdrawn from the property and were adopting a low profile in an effort to avoid provoking the starlet. Police had removed barricades from around the gates, although a few police cars could be seen nearby and police helicopters continued to circle overhead. At dawn, L.A. County tow trucks could be seen disentangling and removing the damaged police vehicles from the property as hundreds press photographers and news crews recorded the destruction.

Interesting story, but you should have explained how Britney got so strong (OD on Zamona for example).

I wrote it taking the point of view that we live in a world where it's perfectly natural for some people to be extremely strong. In this case, it happened to be Britney having a really bad day (not as bad as the police, though)  😀

Fine, but once again it would have been better if you had mentioned this at the start, so people would know that you're not talking about the 'real' world.

A news person reporting from the scene wouldn't be privy to that information.  🙂

The intent wasn't to tell a story, rather it was meant for someone to imagine they were reading a real newspaper article about another amazonian starlet on a rampage. Lindsey Lohan now Britney destroying a couple dozen police cars, and we all roll our eyes and express our disgust at these wild women doing whatever they please  🙂

Any ways, I apologize if it was misleading  🙂

I thought it was good.  I liked the Tazzie Colomb football article better, but this was good too.

I liked it – short and to the point. One of my rare intersections with writing half decently was a serious of Federation Press Interstellar stories showing certain episodes of Star Trek as seen from the perspective of a genuinely fair-minded press attempting to inform the public on issues without all the classified information. – I did five or six articles for my creative writing class – <G>

But they would be aware that she was extremely strong, otherwise the report would be about HOW she managed to do so much damage instead of the fact that she has. Describing her as Pop star turned bodybuilder  , or stating that the drug test was for supper steroids for example would be perfectly in line with a news report, which normally give a little bit of background info, and would indicate to anyone reading the story that we are not talking about the pop star we know in real life.
