Thanks to Wreck over at Press Oblivion for the heads up on Ryan Ottley, another great comic artist.  I was scrolling through his site and came across this rather striking young woman who seems to be a bit miffed about something…

Okay, one, you really need to pick up the rest of Invincible  ;D.

Secondly, judging from her garb, she looks like one of a race of beings that is trying to take over the universe. Think of a race of Kryptonites hellbent on world domination, and you got them in a nutshell. For the most part, they focus on survival of the fittest and conquest by brute force.

If I say anything else, I am jeopardizing all the twists and turns the series takes in its 44+ issue run and counting.

Invincible itself is the story of Invincible, son of the world's most famous hero, Omni Man, and his trials toward becoming a hero the world can be proud of while at the same time navigating the pitfalls of being a hero and a teenager at the same time. All the good kinds of comics you loved to read growing up all rolled into one with enough twists and turns to keep even the keenest comics reader guessing.

Invincible is a very interesting comic.  It started off almost as a Silver Age "Teen Titans" type comic, but at issue 10 (I think) has and incredibly and astonishingly ugly twist that changes everything the reader thought was going on 'til then.  Readers were stunned.

It would seem the young lady on the cover may be a half-sister or love interest for the title character, of the same species.

I have to say, while I liked the idea of the twist in Invincible I felt the execution was very sloppy, and I pretty much dropped it 5 or 6 issues later as I didn't care for the more 'gritty' world they'd gone to. I think it started off as something more unique than what it ended up becoming which feels to contrived and conventional for me to enjoy.  :-
