Let’s not dance around it, I’m actually surprised Kuddle hasn’t chimed in.

The real reason people aren’t fond of Ms. Kyle is because they don’t find her very attractive. Sure she has big beefy muscles and incredible symmetry, but I think a few people would rather have a prettier face win the Ms. Olympia.

She’s certainly not hideous, but if you were to tell them that maybe Nicole Ball, Gina Davis, Cindy Phillips, or Alina Popa were winning the olympia, there would be a much different reaction.

For me personally, I always wanted Debi Laszewski to win, because she always come in top form yet can never seem to win the Olympia. Also, she was my first FBB crush so I maybe have a certain bias against her.

I concur with the “C” man’s points about Iris, but not about Cindy Phillips and Alina Popa. As gorgeous as Cindy is (and I saw her two weeks ago in Orlando, she’s a babe) she is also TINY. Her body is just way to short for her to make an attractive bodybuilder (I mean, have any of you seen Barbara Fletcher at a contest? She looks ridiculous and thats being kind). And although Alina is an awesome, world-class bodybuilder, she’s not exactly Cindy Crawford in the looks department. She’s not ugly or plain, by any stretch, but she’s not going to knock your socks off like a Debi Laszewski, a Nicole Ball and so forth.

Alina knocks my socks off more so than Debi and Nicole… but Im not just thinking about Iris’ looks. I dunno, one can look great, but one cannot be a fan of the woman.

Iris is fine on everything but no part is mindblowingly fantastic.

Which means she has no weak points and that makes her the best female bodybuilder in years. IMO there’s no doubt about that.
I also like Debi Laszewski a lot, she is very attractive, has a very nice shape but her physique does not match Iris one.

As I previously stated, and have now been reiterated by the subsequent postings, there are several of them.

My own view is that its all subjective, bodybuilding is as much an artform as it is a sport, and it depends upon the personal preferences, aspirations and tastes of the individual in question. Or in other words, probably best stated in a classic episode of The Twilight Zone: Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder.

I am not a fan of Iris Kyle, I was glad she did not compete in the Arnold this year, she is one ugly woman and she is bad for the sport of female bodybuilding.

Yes, best in the criteria of the competition. But that doesnt mean anything to fans of the female physique.
