I'm TONED and damn proud of it.
Beautiful women come in all shapes and sizes.
Now I'm fucking pissed.
No need to be pissed at me, DP, honestly. I'm not saying that toned doesn't exist. What I'm saying is:
1. I'm not quite sure what toned actually means. I've seen it described (online at least, which is, of course, the same situation as we now find ourselves in), as meaning everything from eating-disorder-thin, through skinny-fat, cardio-bunny wiry (think a marathon runner), through to slightly muscled (1500 metre runner-ish). It seems to be such a vague, catch-all word that is often used by those who fear looking like a man if they lift so much as a bag of sugar that most people like me treat it in much the same way as a motor-racing fan (also like me) treats the expression "silly men in noisy cars going round in circles".
2. Toned is good, but, round these parts, the majority are going to find buff better. I'm not saying that you don't look great, although I cannot go further than that as I've never seen a photo of you, and I find many non-buff women extremely hot; some, all or fewer of whom you personally might call "toned". All I'm saying is that, whilst minority views are always welcome, the bearer of those views cannot seriously be surprised when more people than not disagree with them.
My main beef is with the word rather than what it implies. It just is that, when I first got interested in femuscle, I read so much about "toning" that it seemed that it was totally immoral for a woman to have any muscle that was visible from more than a yard away. It stood for the old, patriarchal view that said "Little lady, we'll let you into the weight room, but don't try to lift anything that isn't coloured pink."
As to the motion about Mimi – aye. As a mark of my wish to hold out an olive branch, I'd be interested to see if there's a role for DP too. 🙂

There's no part for me in a Justice League movie.

September 26, 2007 at 3:34 am #61046Delmo Walters Jr.ParticipantI’m ALL for Tom Welling as Supes, and I have no idea why he was passed up in that role for last years movie.
Not to get off-topic but Welling was never in the running to play Superman in SR. He was never asked or considered.
September 26, 2007 at 3:48 am #61047FlakBaitKeymasterSeptember 26, 2007 at 4:52 am #61048TC2ParticipantHe past up the role because he didn't want Superman in the movie to interfere with Superman on smallville and end up getting type casted or something like that.
Christian Bale and Brandon Routh passed up being in the JLA movie because they're worried that if the JLA movie is campy, it will ruin their characters. After Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, no one took Batman seriously. So once Batman Begins came it fixed the Batman image issue, so if JLA ends up being campy…
Well it would be back to square one again.
Right now, the producers aren't really caring about "looks" for the role. They're just trying to get people casted as soon as possible so they could start production because there is a rumor of an actor's strike next year which could end up causing problems for the movie if they don't start by this year or early next year.
