Ok, I'm going to toss this one into the fray because anyone who has seen it is probably curious. So exactly what is this Karma system and what kind of effect does it have other than showing how much of an saint/asshole we are?
July 24, 2005 at 4:32 am #8501JimmyDimplesParticipantSomething I probably should've asked earlier… is there any way we can see what particular posts gave us good or bad karma?
July 24, 2005 at 7:16 am #8502LingsterKeymasterI enabled karma on a lark, just to see how it works. So I'm not yet familiar with its function.
My hope is that it might be useful down the road for automated content management and bestowing author privileges on Amaz0ns. 😎

It basically means if you make a post or contribute something that people either approve or disapprove of, they can let you know. It is also pretty much a form of popularity metre -to see how you reputation and interactions with other Board users is considered and appriciated.
It might be interested to see how such a system pans out and who shall be considered the most popular in time (as if that shall be a great mystery).
Peace

The Pimp NeonBlackOr it could end up going into the toilet and jerks spam the smite feature and give people horridly high numbers.
On that note Pimp, it seems me and you both have someone that doesn't seem to like us. 😛

Yes.
That is always a risk, but we should trust the patrons here to show maturity and responsability in this matter.
If it does become out of hand in the manner that you do suggest, we can always have Lingster terminate the function and dweel on it no more.On that note Pimp, it seems me and you both have someone that doesn't seem to like us. 😛
hmph
It matters not, dear Maniac.
I's have been loved and hated all my's existence.
The mere numbers of faceless word concern I not.
Neither should they you. For you are a fine contributor to our humble corner of the Cyber Space Realms and a fine representation of a human creature.
Do not fret of mere casual statistics but rather focus on what brings you here and what gives you joy in being here.Think well on this, dear friend.
Peace
The Pimp NeonBlackJuly 30, 2005 at 2:25 am #8506AnonymousGuestEvery time I log on, I see one more count in my "smite" section. This is hilarious 😀
July 30, 2005 at 2:38 am #8507LingsterKeymasterI've changed the configuration so that only net-Karma will be shown.
July 30, 2005 at 2:40 am #8508Matthew LimParticipantSo is there going to be any karm integrations with the forums, or is this just going to be a "popularity meter" for the time being?

Why? I like knowing the smote amounts 🙂
