So is there going to be any karm integrations with the forums, or is this just going to be a "popularity meter" for the time being?

For now just a popularity meter.

Why? I like knowing the smote amounts ๐Ÿ™‚

Anybody know what smote means?  I smite, you smite, they smite, we done smote!

I'll give a Karma point to anyone who knows what movie that's from.

Itโ€™s so funny. I wonโ€™t say anything when I check some messages (sometimes I just donโ€™t see the need to respond), and then I come to check some more messages and I have more negative karma. I get dinged even when I donโ€™t say anything new. What a hoot! Damned if you do, damned if you donโ€™t ๐Ÿ˜€

I am just saying that I really enjoy this Karma thing you setup. Itโ€™s so fun to login and see whoโ€™s got what! I think itโ€™s a great feature.

And no, Tommy, I don't know what that's from!

Under the karma score of the poster (beneath the avatar), you'll find two links: "applaud" and "smite". Clicking on "applaud" will add 1 point of karma to that poster's score, while "smite" will subtract one point. (You should be able to see the result immediately.)

Thanks Mr. Matthews! Unfortunately, I can't see them! ๐Ÿ˜• It must be because I haven't posted enough. I'll get right on it!

You won't be able to see those links on your own posts; the forum is clever in not letting a member inflate his own karma score.  ๐Ÿ˜€ But you should be able to see them in posts by other members… like this one.

If you still have trouble, send a PM (private message) to Lingster; there may be some technical problem that I can't help with. (As far as I know, there isn't any minimum number of posts required to activate the karma feature, as long as you're registered.)

I can see it now. I wonder if it does matter how many posts you've made, because that was my tenth post back there. It might also be that I was browsing on an XP machine and now I'm back to Windows '98. Who knows? Not I! Anyway, I can now send karma people's way! Hooray! ๐Ÿ˜†

    Yes, I'm easily excited. ๐Ÿ˜‰
