There was a Chinese novel written around Ming dynasty called Romance of Three Kingdoms.
Three Kingdom era there was a chieftain by the name of Meng Huo who rebelled against Kingdom of Shu. In the novel he had a wife (no historical record of her, probably fiction) who was a pretty good warrior.

She’s been one of my long time favorite characters from that series. Always looked awesome.
