    LH-art ever used your work without compensation?

    This happened to me a few years ago and I was alerted to it by a friend. I emailed LH explaining that my email address was clearly visible in the piece that was posted on his site. He sent me a check. Thinking that LH my liked my stuff I sent them an email wondering if they would be interested in perhaps paying me to create art specifically for them. But he never replied.

    Now it may have happened again. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    I saw some art that a guy did for me posted there. I had posted it on the net in my groups. To be fair…he did make a reasonable exchange. No big deal in my case. I just noticed it when I joined LH. Overall, they are a great company and have a long history. They may be struggling to put out new things these days and with membership in this economy. Not sure. I owned alot of the stuff they made right after college in the pre internet era. That has changed the whole business of fbb material.

    As far as I know it’s never happened with me. LH Art was sometimes slow to pay, but he always did.

    Hey, phy, waht happens soometimes, is thata jackass that wants an easy way to get a membership to the site, sends him an image that he found on the net as his own.

    That must be it, Fasola. I had my art posted at a Yahoo group and assumed he took it, but someone probably sent it in for a membership. How weak.

    He gave me a free story anyhow. Nice guy. I doubt he’s doing anything shady. They’ve been around awhile. It is the customers and wanna be’s that are scamming here. :angry:

    I don’t think LH would knowingly do anything improper. I think the business is a labor of love; he’s not looking to screw anybody.

    I have seen my work up on the LH site but i never said anything cuz i agree with lingster in that he means no harm.

    I have worked with him for a while and done some stories for him. And I can NEVER say anything bad about Larry.

    Awesome person to do business with.

    I’ve done a ton of pics for him over the past two years and a couple of illustrated stories. Great guy to work with, and I love the product that he put’s out there. My only gripe is that he can be a tad slow in his email communications at times. But this is a minor complaint. Great guy, great product.
