My guess?
Someone stole your artwork, posted her picture on your drawing, and then sent it to her. She thought it was cute and probably gave the dude credit, not knowing it's yours.

At $25 a month, thats potentially alot of dough. Now Im not making assumptions that this is the norm, because she is one of the better known fbbs, but she obviously derives a decent source of income to even bother with it in the first place. The multi-site attack plan simply means spreading your material over more territory. Im sure the exposure and lack of personal oversight/ site maintenance make up for the pay cut. That being said, I think she is a class act and could pull off her own site if she wished.
December 20, 2008 at 9:49 am #78469TigersanParticipantAnd FBB fans vastly overestimate the number of FBB fans.
Look at the view counter on AMG. An updated page gets about 40,000 views a month. That's basically all the FBB fans in the world. Only 40,000. AMG lists 481 FBBs in their side bar. So assuming an even distribution of fans: 40,000 fans /481 FBBs = 83 fans per FBB on average.
Of those 83 fans how many would be willing to pay a subscription? Particularly considering there is so much free content on YouTube etc? Maybe 10%? That's 8 paying members per FBB. Not much of a living.
Of course – some FBBs will have more fans than average, and some fans may join multiple sites – but it sure aint no pot of gold. However, multi-model sites can do quite well since 100 FBBs x 8 fans = 800 members.
Yup that is true… i know few girls that have their own pages and they are certainly not earning nearly as much as they would like…Thats why they usually do both – have their own website and do other ones like HerBiceps… simple math.

She can say what she wants, but I doubt she has 400 members at 25 per month right now. That would be 10 grand a month as you said minus expenses. She might make that total if you count webcam and all of that, but I still doubt it in this economy.
I thought that show portrayed her poorly. I would never some out and just admit roid abuse like that. Not with the laws now. You can tell that was taped a ways back. The amount of law enforcement on roids has been quadrupled. Don't get caught with large amounts. I'm not saying they are right or wrong for fbbs. I am saying I don't know if I would admit it on TV. Kristy Hawkins did on her recent documentary on that station as well. Not in the same manner though. They had Jo's parents on there wondering why she uses roids openly and saying they were scared for her.
Meryy Christmas to all.
December 25, 2008 at 6:34 am #78471xandertreffersParticipantJust a few things:
-not all female muscle fans go to amg-lite and certainly not all go there daily.
-the number of hits of a page as long as its in the updated-list has nothing to do with the number of fbb fans.
-there are way more than 40.000 fbb fans worldwide; amg-lite got more than 15.000 unique daily hits when there was link to the site's stats until about 1-2 years ago. that's 15.000 daily hits for just one of the many, many, mant fbb sites out there.Oh yes, a fbb can make decent money with a website. There are a few factors to consider:
—the "model" (is she unique, does she attract huge crowds, etc)
—her dedication (does she make new material all the time; is it decent quality material, etc)
—her "fame" & reputation in the scene (does she appear on many other sites, does she appear in many videos, does she attent competitions, does she compete, does she travel/do sessions, how long has she been active in the scene, etc.)
—links to the site & search engine quality
—the quality of the site itself (will visitors be tempted to join or not)
—the dedication of the webmaster & other people that work with her
—how long has the site been online? t's all about building up: keep making material, keep doing better and better, keep improving the site, and the money will increase
(the first paysite that I designed for a FBB in 2004 now makes 2.5 times as much; and this one started out very well already, compared to the other sites that I have done)Just a few factors that are of influence.
Some women are making a very decent living with their site. But only the best, most creative, most unique and most dedicated girls will do well.
If a girl isn't interested in spending time on a site, it might not be bad at all, to let other people take care of everything. Yes, she'll make less money on the internet, but she'll have way less stress, won't need to spend much time on it, so she can devote her time to other things in her life.
I don't know Lindsay personally, don't know her character, interests, etc. so I would cetainly not just assume that she would be better of doing her own site, or working with other people, make her own material, or let others do it, etc.
It depends on the girl what is the best strategy on the internet for her. There is no "one-solution-fits-all" for this.

One reason I think alot of personal sites fail is that fans only join maybe once a year to download all the clips. There's no incentive to stay a member because most sites only add a couple of new clips to the archive each month. So the longer you wait between sign-ups, the more you get for your money.
I think the permanent archive system works well for big sites like HB and MA because they have a wide appeal and a large pool of potential members. But personal sites have a much smaller pool of potential members so they need to retain them from month to month.
I think Johanna D has the right idea in the way she packages her updates into a time-limited issue with the tag line "Get it before it's gone". The downside is she has to put alot of work into each issue to keep her members satisfied.
January 4, 2009 at 8:32 am #78473groovieParticipantPersonally I think most bodybuilders who want to invest in a solo site should just do " content on demand'.. similar to what Builtmore.com presents . No monthly membership fee. Just offer your individual videos or webcam for a small fee. Most of these FBB sites are still doing the " buffet" style content, IE: pay one fee and eat all you want. To be honest, how many Fans actually return to the " Buffet" when they're full, not many. However if you offer your entre "a la cart" you can successfully keep everyone hungry, returning to your site for updates and wanting more. Times are a changing and we should all take note and step up to the changes.
