I have been reading two stories that appeared in – what was it? – GRAND COMICS during the Second World War.  They feature a tall, beautiful lady called Madame Strange, who has a powerful grip and can bend steel bars like they were made of butter!  She has black hair and wears a 1940s bikini with a red bra and a grey bottom which looks as if it is covered with sparkling grey sequins; over her shoulders, she wears a purple cape with a red collar, and on her feet are tall red boots that go up almost to her knees.  This lady made only three appearances during the Golden Age of comics.  I was so enchanted on reading the first story – which was actually the second published – that I wrote an origin story for her, which I posted at the TG Fictionmania website.  You can see the first published story at a Yahoo! Group called MightyComics3(?).

What on earth is going on? It's taken me 6 tries to post this…

Any chance of a scan of the stories you read?

You can find the scans at MyComicBooks3, a Yahoo! Group – I made an error when I gave the name in the first post.  Here's the URL:

So, your origin of Madame Strange is that she was originally a man turned into a woman by some serum? I'm glad that's not her actual origin.

I don't believe Madame Strange ever had an origin story; in the two stories I've read that have been put online at MyComics3, she is presented as a figure of mystery, someone with an identity that, as mentioned in her first appearance (now at MyComics3 in the Madame Strange file), is "cloaked in mystery."

Madame Strange appeared in Great Comics #1 -3, which came out during World War II.  It is mentioned that she has a "secret base" somewhere, from which she operates, in her first story – that is, her debut story – but nothing else was revealed about her in the two stories that I have read so far.

Great news, everybody!  The Madame Strange story from GREAT COMICS #1 has been reposted at MyComicBooks3!  Now everyone who missed reading the story the first time can read it again on the very same YAHOO! Group.
