I am trying to learn something more about at old-time strongwoman who called herself Madamoiselle Ani.  Her photograph appears in PUMPING IRON: THE UNPRECEDENTED WOMAN, and it shows a middle-aged woman in a leotard – whose top is apparently covered in flowers – facing the camera and flexing her biceps.  Her face is round, her features acquiline; her hair is done up in a bun, and apparently she was a brunette or redhead; possibly she was a muscle dancer as well as a dtrongwoman, for the photograoh is slightly blurred, as if the Madamoiselle was in the process of moving.  In fact, the photograph could be a section of film taken from an old reel that was used in one of the many penny-arcade machines that was used to show motion pictures at the time.

Madamoiselle Ani's picture appears in PUMPING IRON II: THE UNPRECEDENTED WOMAN.  As mentioned in the original entry, the photograph is blurred, but the Madamoiselle can be seen facing the camera and flexing her biceps.  She has short, curly hair done up in ringlets, and she is wearing a leotard with tiny flowers visible on the front; her hair appears to be dark.
