The best interchange I've ever heard about the ramifications of genetic tinkering and mutation was from a scifi movie. Blade Runner. It comes near the end of the film.
Roy: "I want more life f****r"
Tyrell: "Ahhh, the facts of life… To make an alteration in the evolvement of an organic life system is fatal. A coding sequence cannot be revised once it's been established."
Roy: "Why not?"
Tyrell: "Because by the second day of incubation, any cells that have undergone reversion mutations give rise to revertant colonies like rats leaving a sinking ship, then the ship sinks."
Roy: "What about EMS recombination?"
Tyrell: "We've already tried it. Ethyl methane sulfonate is an alkalating agent and a potent mutagen. It created a virus so lethal the subject was dead before he left the table."
Roy: "Then, a repressive protein that blocks the operating cells…"
Tyrell: "Wouldn't obstruct replication but it does gives rise to an error replication so that the newly formed DNA strand carries a mutation and you've got a virus again."
Tyrell: "But, uh, this… all of this is academic. You were made as well as we could make you."November 5, 2009 at 5:37 am #87800MaxxCParticipantHum.. now that I have heard Caroline's voice… yikes. Whatever it is, if she's comfy in her skin, then more power to her. Maybe the goal for her is to be as manly as possible? Would be curious to know if she has a boyfriend or a girlfriend.

Myostatin hypertrophy that a subject doesn't outgrow, (it usually manifests in childhood and disappears by late childhood) is accompanied by severe heart muscle damage. Its not just the show muscles that overdevelop, but ALL muscles, including the heart which is in its entirety.
..Well aren't you a Debby downer

I've… seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those… moments will be lost… in time… like… tears… in rain. Time… to die.

November 5, 2009 at 11:06 pm #87806missmonstermusclesParticipantWell I suspect you're not a scientist … then it's just your opinion
which is exactly what this thread is about. So YES …Reality is subjective…and perception is relative . That is a widely shared opinion with a variety different people .
My opinion, regarding your comment, is that you're looking for something to disagree with.
So baby be my guest, disagree with anything you want. If that's what you need to feel in control..then
GO FOR IT.November 5, 2009 at 11:11 pm #87807wagiParticipantHello all,
this is in interesting thread. I personally love Carolines extreme muscularity. To me its wonderful to see women developing those extreme muscles.
I hope she continues growing!!!Yours

GO FOR IT.You don't need to be a scientist, all you need is to be well read. Articles on genetics are pretty easy to find in periodicals like Scientific American, Journal of the Americam Medical Association, Nature, even Wired. The PBS series NOVA has done multiple shows on it.
This is not subjective, it is quantifiable and repeatable. Its not theory, its measured and observed.
