Hello ya pack of muscle-heads!Here is another pic from inside Black Shire Industries,"Building the Workhorse of Tomorrow!"My hubby is writing a story around these pictures so please be kind… ;).This is nurse Mabel reborn as Mayhem and head researcher Dr. Daniel Shire.Once I figure out how, Mabel would say "Its ok honey, just lick it up…." but word bubbles are next chapter, haha. Anyways,I hope you like our new hobby.

May 22, 2007 at 9:58 am #52392Cindy TortioParticipantThanks guys. Now Amazon…amazon, amazon, amazon.Good God you have a educated eye. The eyes and cheeks are driving me nuts also. How can you pick that off? I redid them after the fact in Photoshop, hated them. Redrew them again, touched them up in Photoshop and then said "oh the hell with it." Sometimes a drawing demands its own look I guess. She has grown on me ,with her square jaw and solid cheek bones but I am drawn straight to those eyes and cheeks everytime I look at her. I actually jumped into another sketch to keep from erasing a hole through her head…lol. More work needed obviously…
May 22, 2007 at 5:40 pm #52393Amazon LoverParticipantI think there are two problems with the eys: #1: They're too close together. #2: The corner of her right eye (On the viewer's left) is slightly higher than the corner of her other eye resulting in a lack of symmetry. Yup, symmetry is the culprit once more… with both her eyes and her cheekbones. Note that her right cheekbone (Once again, viewer's left) is a sort of bulge that points downward, while her left – from the top down – curves out, then back in, resulting in a more defined cheekbone that points up. Personally, I prefer the bulgy one; it seems to make more sense on her face than one that makes her face seem thin or drawn.
It seems to me that your biggest problem is symmetry; you might wanna do some practice drawing to take care of that. It also couldn't hurt to try sketching some faces using a model (Either a friend or even a photo). Good luck! 🙂
May 23, 2007 at 3:29 am #52394JedediahParticipantLike I said on dA- nice arms on this gal! (But I fear for the Dr's continued well being- she looks dangerous.)
As for the face thing- her nose and mouth are drawn well, her eyes are drawn well, it's just that her eyes aren't in line with her nose. If the bridge of her nose was in line above the tip of her nose that might fix some of the problem.
If you are doing image fixes and clean up on the computer a useful technique might be to try flipping the image horizontally. This will make any asymmetries pop right out to your eye.May 23, 2007 at 4:15 am #52395Cindy TortioParticipantYou would think that as old as our language is it would have stronger words than "thank you". Jedediah and Amazon Lover, thank you, I appreciate your help very much.
