I'd like to know where they get some of these survey participants. Personally, long legs are a wonderful thing, especially if they exhibit some strength or muscle. To me, its what makes women like Rihanna beautiful. Female volleyball players are incredible and most of them are very tall with long, athletic legs, like Gabriella Reese.

The guys who participated in this survey wouldn't know beauty if it bit 'em in the butt.  :-

Maybe that Aussie gal had it right in the comments. Lots of men can be intimidated by a woman with long legs especially if it makes them look shorter in stature. Kind of like most men not liking women with muscles bigger than their own because it makes them appear weaker. I know I sure don't suffer from it… ;D

It's not that surprising when you understand what the criteria were:

Faced with the choice of a woman whose legs are much longer than the rest of her body and another whose legs account for half her height, men will set their sights on the latter, a study found.

In other words, men are more likely to prefer a woman with a physique that is balanced in terms of proportions, as opposed to one with legs that are "much" longer than the rest of her body.  I suspect that the wording is what threw them.  Had they simply asked, do prefer a woman with long legs, the "yes" replies would have been more common.

I believe Tonus hit the nail on the head.  If you look at a woman with disproportionately long legs, it's actually quite unattractive.  I saw one girl in Atlantic city who was practically all legs and there was no meat to em!  It was quite gross.

reminds me of a survey Penn and Teller did on an episode of their Bulls*it series on the environment when they went to an environmental rally and got everyone they asked there to sign a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide because it was in our atmosphere and too much of it can kill you. God I love surveys  😛
