Has Petra Martinez from “Love and Rockets” been mentioned here? She is listed in Comicvine, but in her “before” shape:

Then she became addicted to swimming, Kickboxing and weightlifting, and developed huge arms:
    Synthol-sized cannons, better said.

Then she remarried and put on a lot of weight…but that’s subject for another community, I assume. 😉

More girls from the site: http://comicvine.gamespot.com/profile/comicboy12/lists/muscle-girls/29854/

Gilbert Hernandez, the artist who created “Petra”, used to feature a lot of female bodybuilders
in his comic books (“Love and Rockets” and other ones). But for some reason, about 4-5 years ago,
he stopped. Not sure why. He seemed to have a thing for them. In fact, in one of the Love and Rocket Books, he
has a Mexcian female bodybuilder named “Diana” flexing her huge muscles before several scrawny male photographers
on a beach. Scene is really well drawn, the massive female bodybuilder looking two or three times the size
of her male admirers!. I suspect his publishers forced him to stop at some point, claiming that these women were “unmarketable”.

    😉 You’re right. Here’s the scene:

I wish I had more of her, but that’s all. One thing’s for sure about G.H.: he likes his women with big butts and hips.

Gilbert Hernandez (along with his brothers) are comic creator genius’s on a par with Alan Moore or Will Eisner. He recently put out a graphic novel called Girl Crazy that I would very much recommend. It as well as his brother’s God and Science both feature very strong and fit looking female central characters.

Girl Crazy is hardly “recent”. It came out in 1997.
