KeymasterSo, I was a big fan of the show during its original run, and own the DVD box set. The two muscular lady blacksmiths were played by Corey Everson and her sister Cameo Kneuer. They appeared in two episodes of the single-season show, the first being “No Man’s Land” – both episodes were set in a town populated entirely by women, thus in which women had to perform all roles, even the ones that are traditionally exclusively masculine. So, “Sheriff Jenny” was also a tough broad, played by Denise Crosby, but even so, the “Schwenke Sisters” and their muscles received abundant attention, especially in the second episode in which they appeared.
At the time I developed a fairly elaborate fantasy about the town, imagining that The Orb (the sci-fi McGuffin that was the the primary plot driver in this cowboy TV show) was responsible for increasing the Schwenke Sister’s strength, and was gradually having the same effect on all the women in the town, including the regular female co-stars who (in my imaginings) chose to live there full time. I had the plotline drawn up in my head for a subsequent episode, in which Brisco and Lord Bowler return to the town to find that the Schwenke Sisters have grown even more muscular. When Brisco mentions it to Sheriff Jenny she rolls up her sleeve and flexes, demonstrating that she, too, has grown significantly bigger and stronger muscles since his last visit. Jenny explains that all the women have been experiencing the effect, at which point Brisco’s primary love interests in the series, the brainy Amanda Wickwire and the sexy Dixie Cousins stroll in.
The two women have been roommates for the last few months while Amanda has been studying The Orb, and have thus been in close proximity to it more than anyone, especially Amanda. As a result, Amanda is now even more muscular than the bulked-up Katrina Schenke, and Dixie isn’t far behind. Brisco and Bowler are stunned by their transformations, and Dixie casually taunts Brisco about not letting himself be intimidated by women who are stronger than him. He takes the bait and insists that while the girls seem to have put on a little muscle, he’s confident he’s still stronger than either of them.
And of course what happens next is arm wrestling, and both men losing to both women. Sheriff Jenny asks for a try but loses to both men. Bowler offers her a rematch with a wink, but she suggests waiting a week, by which time she’ll be even stronger from Orb exposure.
