Thanks for allowing me to see that Dirty Pair episode again. I have it on VCR in the original Japanese with subtitles, but can no longer use it because our VCR doesn’t connect with our digital TV.

A couple of notes about the Shelley Beattie clip 1) you notice how young those competitors were — 29, 24 and 22 respectively. Wow has the sport aged, and we simply aren’t getting the influx of young women like we used too 2) seemed like Shelley had everything going for — beautiful, joyful personality. I know she had a hearing disability, but is that reason enough to want to “do yourself in”? There must have been an evil, evil presence in her life who pushed her over the edge…

2) Yeah she had a lot going for her, but maybe she was depressed or had some kind of psychological condition…So sad that there wasn’t anyone in her life to be there when she needed it?

I believe there was also a struggled with bi-polar disorder, which severely increases chances of suicide.
