Hey folks – just wanted to let you know that Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape browsers (all part of the same family) now equal Microsoft browsers in popularity with Amaz0ns readers. (See pie chart below.) If you're still using Internet Explorer, which is for shit, you can download Firefox here. It's so much better, and it's even easier to use. Give yourself a break.
Am I the only one using AOL 9.0, then?
You're actually using the AOL browser?
And hmmm…the stats on the graph have changed dramatically since I posted it earlier in the week. At that time, IE and Mozilla browsers each had about 48%. Now IE has 56%. What seems likely to me is that people use IE overwhelmingly when at work, but much less when at home (weekends).

In the UK, when you use AOL as your broadband provider, you have to use their browser. Must be different in the US. ???
I used to use Netscape, 'cuz IE is slower than molassas in January. Then it seemed every website I visited had issues except when I used IE. So I used the hated IE.
More recently, I heeded my friends' advice & started using Firefox. Works like a charm, though I can't get it to show .avi files, etc.

To the Opera and Safari users… how do those browsers compare to the rest?
Opera is an excellent browser. Safari is also very good, but is not as feature rich as others.
I usually run Safari as a backup, just as I do with Camino (a Mozilla browser similar to Firefox). For example, if I want to be signed in as an Amaz0ns administrator and a guest at the same time, I'll run Firefox as the admin's browser and then Safari or Camino as the guest's. Camino and Safari are also much lighter than Firefox, and so they run faster on my increasingly geriatric Mac.
On my PC, I use Opera as the backup, because it's more reliable than Internet Explorer. Also, Opera is the native browser on the Wii, and its PDA and portable versions are exceptional.
