Well. This is entirely unexpected – I’ve been watching and thoroughly enjoying the old Super Sentai (Japanese Power Rangers) series Ninja Sentai Kakuranger from 1994. If you ever watched the original Power Rangers when it was on, this is where the ninja zords in season three (also the movie) and the Alien Rangers came from.
Anyway, episode 38, amazingly titled “MOO! What a Bad Cow!” has a monster based on a bull and an Old West sheriff. He transforms people into like… cow zombies with horns. Part way through the episode, the monster reacts to seeing the suit of the red ranger after he morphs and gets really angry. When he does, all the people he’d previously transformed go through a further transformation process, starting with the mother of the child auxiliary characters for the episode:
Obviously there’s some dudes in there as well, but they all seem similarly buff which is fun. It’s implied that they’re stronger but there’s no displays of superstrength – the only other time we seem them is walking down a beach for a few seconds carrying building supplies.
Can’t do a proper clip right now but I guess you get the idea. There’s no expansion sound effects other than like a pulsating magic effect.
Anyway, there you go. A random little bit.
