Participantwent ever artist is this type of field stops drawing , a little of us is destroyed.
It a shame that people try to talk them out of doing it.
The constant attacks seen all the time ,like Purukogi there one person who
keeps after him about drawing disgusting muscle women,"Why do your women look like their on Steriods!?"
Its very sad.February 8, 2008 at 2:09 am #66933Fett

ParticipantBeen speaking with Satsoru about the whole ordeal…it really sucks but unfortunately I've seen it too often in this circle: we love something to the point of insanity and then something makes us crack. Sort of wish it didn't have to be like this but at least he's never going to give up femmuscle art.

ParticipantThat's a shame he deleted the comic- it was a really cute story. And now we'll never know if the Spanish girl gets her muscles back after being zapped by the raygun! ???

ParticipantHi there.
I really think I should say something here. After all, it's about something I did.
The reason I stopped the comic is indeed my low self-esteem. No other person should be blamed. Not even the person who said that so brutally honest critic that I mentioned in the link that Stmercy posted. After all, everyone is free to express their point of view, either if we like it or not (unless it's something illegal, of course, and nothing illegal happened here).
And for those who are interested, I am not completely stopping drawing. It's just that I stopped drawing comics. That's all. My low self-esteem can't deny my urge to draw (ok, I don't draw as a pro, but I need to draw. I would do it even if I didn't posted them on the internet).
And by the way, Jebriodo (it's an honor that you knew about this), yes, in the end the girl got her muscles back. Another girl lost them for good, but that doesn't matter anymore, I guess.
To those who were reading it, thanks for reading and my apologies if my decision dissapointed you.

That's good to hear. You're not dead as an artist if you keep going. Just remember that 99.99% of us artists are not professionals and never will be. Take a moment and look at the various galleries at DA and browse hundreds upon hundreds of web comics. Pay attention to the number of amateurs. If you look at enough of them, you'll soon realize that the majority are no better then you are, and somehow they manage to keep on going.
What you are going through is common to lots of artists. I've been through it a few times myself. You're not alone in this. Try and keep things in perspective. If you can do that you'll feel better.

ParticipantI just try to avoid any type of comparisons. Either if I win or if I lose. I really think that the "I'm a better artist than person" attitude is harming the… uh… artistic community, if there is one. The main thing here is not that I think I will never reach the level of that guy (or any other guy for the same reason). It's that I think that I will never reach the level that I want to reach. And it's extremely frustrating.
Thanks for the support, though ^_^

ParticipantWe all have low self esteem for our works..the problem is coping with it. If it means ending the story, then maybe its the only way. It could be for the better if it leads to a better something later on.

I really meant the "I'm better artist than that person" attitude. I am sorry but I couldn't find the "modify" button anywhere.
